Poured at FoBAB 2014 (Chicago, IL). Pours a nice hazed golden amber pour, a nice summery glow with frothy whitish head atop. Good firmer ring sticks around, laces ok. Aromas are a bit of tannic cherry, cobwebs and funk meet oak, some sourness and lactic elements grow a bit. Some earth, gentle cherry and horseblanket. Initial is lighter end of the fold, some aggressive cherry and acidic zing hits with lemon, firm oak, a bit of acedic quality with some citrus, cherry and more funk. A bit fuzzy and brett driven with nice cobwebs, gentle sourness and citric elements are decent sourness into the back. More dry and funk driven back here though, tannic oak and straw. Solid, a bit weird and doesn’t necessarily flow great but a nice beer.

Fobab 2014. Listed as NBB LOVE Cherry Felix. Sour and tart. Mild acid. Lots of sour cherry. Pretty good stuff.

Draft at Release the Funk. Golden orange color, small off white head. The cherries are fairly subtle in this one, on a soft sour background. Tasty.

Served at a special release at Tap N Handle during GABF week. Tart cherry and funk aroma but not medicinal. Dark ruby color with a minimal head. Like dark cranberry. Fluid and oily finish but full. Tart cherry up front that was followed by wood, spice and funkiness but nothing off kilter. Well-balanced and complex.

Served from cask. Pours a hazed reddish brown hue with minimal head. Aromas are very complex: damp wood, wet leaves, earth, funk, tart cherries, ripe fruit, tannic skins, light red wine, soil, acid and brett. Flavors are overall quite tart. Light hints of sweet cherries. Red wine, vinous, grapes. Good acidity. Oak. Quite quenching. Overall mostly a lactic sourness, but there is some acetic qualities. Tart, dry, low carbonation, good acidity. Tasty.
