4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2011 The beer is a hazy light orange with a decent white head and good lacing.
The aroma is just tart bitter wood. The wood really shows off.
The taste is very woody not as much tart as hoped.
The feel is ok, decent drinkablilty.
So-so wild ale, nothing special, the wood kinda kills it.
Re-rate - called Foedre 3 at Toronado party, this was the beer of the night, outstanding, didnít change my notes but changed the score

Sampled at brewvival. This stuff was FANTASTIC. Semi hazy orange pour with no real head. Wonderfully tart and an acidity that rips the enamel right off your teeth! Really good.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Sour Fest 4. This was a highlight for sure. I remember love, itself as being quite amazing, since its the base beer for La Folie and La Terrior, this version was certainly awesome too. Pours orange with a bright white head. Nose is sweet, light, and hoppy, with a bit of funk. Taste is a great blend of hoppiness, sweet notes, and funk. Damn this was both different and great.
Earlier Rating: 7/19/2009 Total Score: 4.4
Tap @ Stone Sour Fest listed as Love Barrel #3. Pours orange with a bright white ring. Nose is sweet and fruity with some apricot, and its quite tart. Taste is sweet, tart, rich fruitty and overall sublime, so happy to finally have this.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2010 [this was a dry hopped version of Love entitled "Felix">
From memory. On tap at Stone Sour Fest - blew three tickets on three glasses and it was worth it . .. hands down the beer of the event for me. Crisp, dry hop aroma with little hint of the sour love underneath. I could not place the taste that followed after the hops for the life of me . . . something slightly spicy, but not holiday spice, and some vegetable and . . . I have no idea. Middle-to-end flavor of dark, tart/sour spiral . . . just lingering, dominating, and perfect. An absolutely 1-of-a-kind stellar beer.
