COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Felix is New Belgium’s blonde sour ale aged in oak foeders at the brewery. It is blended in various proportions in many of New Belgium’s sour wood-aged beers, such as Le Terroir and Tart Lychee.

How to tell you’re drinking the Felix version of Love: should be straw to orange / amber in color, not dark caramel or brown. If it’s called "Love" on a pub or festival menu, it’s most likely Felix and not Oscar.

Tap at Toronado Seattle.

Browish pour, little head. Classic NB sour aromas, not a huge amount of complexity. Deeply tart, not totally dry but not sweet. Exactly what you’d expect the base beer for these others to taste like, but it works a bit better than you might have expected. My favorite NB sour save for Eric’s ale.

On draft at pine box for 4th anniversary. Really fresh it seems on draft. Orange peel, lemon and lots of funk. Really makes you pucker but in a good way. Really fantastic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is tart, skins, very funky, really nice. Appearance is golden, white head, slight haze. Taste is initial funk, followed by a nice tart sour, quite funky and nice. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, crisp carbonation, funky warhead sour aftertaste. Overall, this is a very solid offering.

Tap at rare barrel. Looking time want ticked! Pours hazy golden orange, medium bubbly white head, decent lacing. Aroma is oak, lemon, stone fruit, pear, white peach. Flavor is medium tart, hint of funk, oak tannins and some pit fruit and lemon. Not acetic, which is nice, not not really popping either. I think the sour world has kinda left this one behind.

On Tap hazy deep orange with a brief off white head. Some confusion in the name as teh commercial description suggests but this is neither Cherries or Peaches. Very tart. Nearly authentic Lambic level of tartnes/acidity. Nice rounded fruity flavors also though and squeaky finish. A bit lighter and a bit more sour than La Folie, even the original caged corked 750s of yore. Very tasty.

Tap - unique fruit in this one. Lots of juicy lychee and oak. Good combo of flavors. Quite tart and sour wo being overdone.
