MIGHTY ARROW Pale Ale provides lots of pleasurable sniffs from Amarillo and Cascade hops with a fetching honey malt base. This is our brewed tribute to Arrow, Kim’s Aussie/Border Collie mix who ran (literally) New Belgium for 12 years. When she wasn’t patrolling the brewery grounds, she was famous for her office visits: She never met a tummy rub she didn’t like. Atta girl Arrow.

Deep gold, almost orange pour from bottle with a thin white head. Aroma is hay and some sugar. Taste is malt, yeast, hops, grass and honey. Complex and interesting. I’ll drink this one again.

Bottle - Pours a clear apple juice color. Earthy aroma. Small white head. Decent lacing. Some citrus in flavor. Very crisp and clean finish. Subtle but enjoyable mouthfeel. Quality brew. Nothing specific jumps out at me, but I rate this very high on the drinkability meter. If this were available locally I could see myself drinking it often. Picked this one up as a single at a local grocery in Chicago.

Nice APA. Not too hoppy but just right and smooth. I enjoy all of New Belgiums beers because they are very flavorful and this one is subtle and understated. Nice offering.

I first had this beer many years before I joined RateBeer.com. So, now I have a bottle and I am refreshing my palate on it. Very fruity, but not too girly. It’s a good beer, with a good amount of alcohol in it, so be ready.

12oz bottle. Clear orange pour, slight white head. Aroma of sweet malt, pine hops, and oranges. Tastes slightly sweet with less of a hop bite than hinted at in the nose. New Belgium’s house yeast has a very odd after taste to me that I can’t put my finger on.

The aroma of hops is stronger then most bitters but doesn’t come out so much in its flavor. This is a solid pale ale!

12oz bottle. Pours a bright clear golden color with a two-finger white head and lacing that covers the glass. Nice aroma that has a pale malt base and a good hop bite, with orange and grapefruit. The flavor is about halfway between malty and hoppy. Bready pale malts with a mild citrusy hoppiness, lending average bitterness that balances the mild sweetness. Medium-light bodied with decent crispness and average carbonation level. Pretty good classic American pale ale overall.
