2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 curly (2395) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - MAR 5, 2009
Clear amber and orange color. Foamy white head, good lace. Smells just like pineapple juice and that’s what it tastes like. Way too sweet, let’s get this thing some bitterness. Also a little thin, but a great beer for people that are new to good beer.

Sampler at the W&C Ballwin, Mo. It poured an amber color with a decent white head. The aroma was of sweet malt and pine. The flavor was sweet malt along with scents of honey and citrus. A decent American pale ale.

12oz bottle from Callahan’s Pub. Poured into a Shaker.
Large amount of frothy white head that lasts and lasts leaving excellent lacing. Color is light orange.
Aroma is a light amount of malt. Toffee and honey. With a light amount of flowery hops.
Light bodied with an oily texture, it has lively carbonation and almost no finish.
Palate is lightly sweet and lightly bitter.
Overall, it wasn’t too bad. Nothing I would seek out but maybe something I would buy on a discount rack at my local bottle shop.

Bottle. Golden pour with a single finger white head. Honey and hop aroma. Mild hop flavor.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 bubbleflubber (1423) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - MAY 12, 2010
Golden pour with no retentive head nor lace. The nose is somewhat sweet, woody and yeasty. The flavors are of toasted grains, woodiness, light tannins and some light hopping to finish. "Light" tends to be the overtone of the brew, almost underwhelming. The mouthfeel is the similar, albeit drinkable. I just wasn’t really taken by the offering. No complexities, and the palate is deathly close to thin, if not watery. It does get better through the pull, as the beer warms, but that’s not a lot to bank on... when I have to "find" something positive about blandness.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jcr (1946) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - APR 8, 2010
Bottle. Clear, golden body. Frothy, white head, mostly diminishing. Light aroma of toasted grain, orange, citrus and grapefruit. The flavor is lightly bitter and moderately sweet. It finishes lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, thick texture, average carbonation. Lingering bitternes, but not overly strong. A bit husky/grainy and unclean — like putting a handful of dry grain in your mouth. Seems to have the same grainy aftertaste as Fat Tire does — basically a Fat Tire with more hops.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Butters (3321) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - FEB 11, 2009
Bottle split with barrios at woody’s. Pours a clear light amber with nice thick white head. Aroma is very fruity hop aroma, like grapefruit with a wierd twinge of mustiness. Flavor is semi-bitter with some citrusy hop flavor and a dusty quality. Leaves a dry semi-bitter finish in my mouth. Decent for style I suppose, but not exactly my cup of tea.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Jarrid (20) - Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA - AUG 31, 2008
Not a big fan of it, though. The taste is great until the very end, and I did not enjoy the bitterness, and I am glad it was in the Folly Pack.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2009 BB June 18, 2009. Pours a very clear golden/orange with moderate white head that diminishes to a trace. For some reason I smell a Purina Dog Chow bag. Funky smell of malts and hops without nothing distincive hitting me, other than an empty Purina Dog Chow food bag (is this what they call "barnyard"? Definitely more malts than hops in the nose. Have to say I like a more hopped APA than this, but overall it is balanced and more malty. I’d drink again but would probably pass on purchasing. To me the aroma is not as pleasant as others. Overall I find New Belgium a fine brewery, but something about this just is not right with me.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BVery (4251) - Burnsville, Minnesota, USA - FEB 8, 2009
BOTTLE: copper pour, aroma is grain, faint hops, and yeast. A little sweet/honey on taste. Decent beer, but not spectacular.
