3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 CanIHave4Beers (2512) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - FEB 14, 2009I’ve been pretty worn out on New Belgium latley, but this here..... this drank pretty good. I too was presented this as an IPA, which was indeed a lie. It pours a clear golden color with a decent head and a good lace. It smells kind of stinky at first, sort of a cheeeeeese aroma, after that it has all the noral citrus and floral aromas, in some abundance at that. The flavor is as expected, particularly citrusy, but with a nice blance and some candy sweetness. This is certinally something I will pick up on sale. Belive that.

This is a solid APA it has a nice balance across the board. Super mild honey, and little hop.

Amber color and fairly light. Has floral smell and taste with also an earthiness. A little to bitter for my taste.

Pours hazy amber/orange into the glass with white head. Lots of citrus and floral hops on the nose. Taste has a crisp start and a crisp finish. Lots of floral and citrus hop character as well. One of the most well-balanced hoppy brews I’ve had with the hops not overpowering the malt character. This would be a great brew for someone just getting into hoppy beer.

A very good pale. Has a hint of fruitiness, but not over the top. Close to perfect hoppiness.

Originally reviewed: 4/11/10. A friend brought this to a cookout last night. I’ve wanted to try this one. Poured into a mug. Pours a hazy orange with a thick white head on top. Great retention; left lots of sticky lace. Big sharp resiny pine scent. Sinus-clearingly powerful.
Great crisp mouth. Moderate body. Pretty bitter and resiny in flavor as well. A little much for the style. Some sweet candy-like finish. Malt bready balance is lacking. Reminds me of a mild IPA. Not my favorite of the style, but it’s not bad.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DANEgerous (66) - Texas, USA - MAR 20, 2012
Aroma: A hopped brightness not to be expected from any pale ale /Nice enough to be made into a cologne
Appearance: Typical pale ale slightly on the dark side
Taste: Wonderful brights of citrus an wheat, akin to a key lime or lemon merange made with beer just a touch of hops
Pilate: Typical and moderate in all regards
Overall: Bright and wonderful... let’s leave it at that

Bottle. Pours a nice clear golden color with a foamy white head. Aromas of fresh herbal hops dominate; but not overly so. Well carbonated but somewhat thin overall. Another pretty easy to drink APA

Tasted from bottle into nucleated pint glass. Pours a bright amber color with creamy off-white head, little lacing. Strong aromas of bread, aggressive American hops and ale yeast esters. Taste is true-to-style for an American Pale Ale but more malt complexity than typical: I’m picking up plain pale, some caramel, maybe some biscuit or aromatic and even a little roasted barley or other unmalted grain. I’m not sure what "honey malt" is, but the resulting beer tastes great.
