COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

Bottle. Aroma: Notes of wheat, lemon, hay, and spices. Smell of orange/lemon zest is a little overwhelming. Appearance: Opaque yellow, cloudy, with slick, white head. Taste: Strong orange/lemon up front, fades quickly, not detecting spices as much in taste as in aroma. Palate: Very light body, oily texture, lively carbonation, with an abrupt, somewhat sour finish. Very drinkable, but I would like more bitter/sour to contrast with the strong sweetness.

Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Spicy aroma with light coriander and lemon. The flavor is crisp and spicy, with light floral notes, coriander, and lemon. Decent.

Pours a hazy straw colored yellow, with fizzy white head. Aroma has notes of wheat (duh), and subtle citrus and spice notes. clean on the palate with good carbonation. Taste follows the aroma with notes of wheat, citrus, and spices. Good solid wheat beer, sould be a nice summer session beer because not too filling, and not super-flavorful.

Found a 22-oz.bottle hiding in the beer fridge with a "best before" date of September 2009. Two years past its prime? No way! It poured to a very appealing oversized head and the spices sharply dominate the nose. Great carbonation and a pretty straw color. Hints of sourness and bitterness in the taste. I’ll have to track down a fresher one someday soon to compare, but this one was very nice.

12 ounce bottle into weizen glass, best by 12/04/2011. Pours slightly hazy light golden straw color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with nice retention that reduces to a thin cap. A dacent amount of lacing clings to the glass as well. Aromas of big banana, clove, pepper, bubblegum, grass, coriander, wheat, citrus peel, and biscuit. Very nice aromas with good strength. Taste of coriander, pepper, bread, lemon, wheat, light banana, light bubblegum, and yeast spice. Lingering notes of coriander, pepper, clove, citrus, and banana on the finish for a bit. Light-medium bodied with medium-high carbonation as expected. A bit on the watery side for taste, but still solid. Very drinkable with no alcohol noticed at all as expected. Good balance of flavors, but the spices are a bit too strong in this one. Overall this is a very nice and enjoyable witbier. Definitely worthy for a session in my opinion.

Pours pale yellow with a small head that goes away quickly. Aroma is mostly spice. Taste is spices and some fruit. Good carbonation and easy to drink.

The aroma reminded me strongly of peanuts and lemon. Bad label on one of those good New Belgium yoked bottles. Peary-yellow beer with a filmy head. Sour, fairly bitter, sour fruits, yeasty. A woody aftertaste. Very true to style, enjoyable. Mac’s Beer and Wine, downtown Atlanta.
