COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

12 oz bottle. Purchased as part of a New Belgium variety pack and did not care for it. Very grassy, grainy, and citrusy to the point of being too overwhelming.

Decent nothing special. The nose is floral hops with lemon and spice notes. The beer is pale gold to straw with a small white head. The taste is coriander and lemon zest wrapped with some hops. Clean and crisp, very refreshing, but not distinguished.

Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a white head. Aroma is malty and toast. Taste initially is wheat, and a citric finish. Finishes clean and is light bodied.

color is straw golden haze, aroma of citrus fruits, coriander, wheat, flavor is coriander, bitter oranges, wheat, biscuit, very earthy, i guess its not bad for an organic beer but not anything special over all

Pours super pale yellow and hazy. gives almost a whiteish look. Nise is Citrus peel, grains, heavy coriander, fresh black pepper, lemon zest, and various other bubblegum esters. Flavor is bigger on the bubblegum and lemon pepper blend. Dry finish. Carbonation is moderate. Full flavored and easy to drink. I don’t drink many wits but this seems underrated.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2012 Mothership Wit is a stunning organic beer. Crisply flavored with orange and spice, it pours fresh and smells delicious. I had a wonderful evening sharing this beer with the friends who gifted it to me and I’ll definitely be buying more in the future.

Bottle. Aroma: Notes of wheat, lemon, hay, and spices. Smell of orange/lemon zest is a little overwhelming. Appearance: Opaque yellow, cloudy, with slick, white head. Taste: Strong orange/lemon up front, fades quickly, not detecting spices as much in taste as in aroma. Palate: Very light body, oily texture, lively carbonation, with an abrupt, somewhat sour finish. Very drinkable, but I would like more bitter/sour to contrast with the strong sweetness.
