3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap @ THE Steakout Saloon. Very dark maroon/brown appearance with a violet head. Dark raspberry nose that’s pretty sweet. Flavor is dominated by a quite sweet and fairly sour raspberry juicy flavor. Pretty sour finish. Raspberry flavor doesn’t taste nearly as natural in the beer as it does in Frambozen. It does deserve credit for masking the high ABV behind the sourness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Max’s in Baltimore. Thanks Tom for sharing! Poured a much deeper than expected clear cola ruby with a temporary pinkish fizz head. Nose is very similar to New Glarus Raspberry Tart: seedy raspberry, true and sweet, with blackberry. Pretty crazy. Taste is awesomely tart and spicier with raspberry jam and just a hint of sourness. Not quite seedy or as intense as the New Glarus equivalent but very rich stuff. Delicious.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
i believe this is designed to be somewhat similar to their transatlantique kriek. body is dark eggplant color while the small, thin head is off-white to tan. earthy must (dirty) in the nose is a combination of raw, unsweetened berries with a small amount of charred oak and burnt cookie crumb. mild to medium tartness with medium-low acid and medium body, it’s a bit rough up front and seems to fizzle across the middle and back. the wateriness becomes strong in the short finish, comprised of the same charred wood, toasted cookie and unsweetened raspberry fruit character. not one of the better products.
