What’s that bite of tartness doing in a pumpkin beer? Adding the unexpected kick of cranberry juice to brighten this traditionally spiced seasonal ale. PUMPKICK is brewed with plenty of pumpkin juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, but it’s the cranberries and touch of lemongrass that send your tastebuds sailing.

12oz bottle - To say I’m disappointed in this beer would be pretty accurate. I’m always down for a new spiced/pumpkin beer for Fall, but this one seemed pedestrian. Aroma is kept under tight wraps with light cinnamon/nutmeg/clove combo. Flavors of clove, allspice, some light cranberry essence with a thin palate and slightly astringent. Almost overly-attenuated to the point where I’m looking for just a hint of sweetness to help support the spices used. It finishes crisp, but falls short of being something truly outstanding. Another beer that falls flat from New Belgium.

Copper color. Thin head. Smells like Fat Tire, with ginger and nutmeg. Tastes like that too, and cinnamon and allspice. The pumpkin in the flavor actually tastes like real pumpkin rather than artificial. Still not my kind of thing but not bad.

Beautiful in the glass, deep copper orange hued, lasting ivory foam, very aromatic, clove and cinnamon, citric limes, undifferentiated fruit, apples, berries, is there pumpkin in this? slightly acidic, light medium body, barely any creaminess there, light medium effervescence, finishes with a touch of herbal alkaloidal bitterness.

The aroma seems like a macro with adjunct malt, pumpkin, and spices. The appearance is amber with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma and cardboard like. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s OK.

Great pumpkin beer . Nice variation to typical pumpkin beers. Nice light caramel flavor of malt with a refreshing splash of cranberry to follow the grassy vegetable character of the pumpkin. Light hopped refreshing pumpkin brew. Nice beer. Very hard to find though.

Poured from a bottle into a frosted mug. Golden orange, smelled of hops, malt, nutmeg, cinnamon with a similar taste. Strong spice after taste, too much actually to taste the pumpkin, but a good brew.

Solid pumpkin. Strong pumpkin and nutmeg notes. Cranberry comes in underneath, contributing a slight sweetness. Good.

Sampled from a bottle, this beer had a gold orange pour with a little amber color, and some haze from the sediment floating around, the pour made a half finger white head that receded to a mostly open cover and ring, there were nice spots and fingers of lacing on the sides of the glass, this beer had aromas of spices – cinnamon and allspice, light malt, some pumpkin and vegetable, faint spice hops? and some cranberry with a touch of citrus in the background, the flavors were toasted malt and pumpkin, spices, bread and malt sweetness, and a little cranberry and citrus at the finish, the mouth feel was light with some creamy feel on the palate, and it had average carbonation, a nice pumpkin beer, the cranberry was a neat touch.
