What’s that bite of tartness doing in a pumpkin beer? Adding the unexpected kick of cranberry juice to brighten this traditionally spiced seasonal ale. PUMPKICK is brewed with plenty of pumpkin juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, but it’s the cranberries and touch of lemongrass that send your tastebuds sailing.

On tap. Served a hazy dirty orange color. Aroma of pumpkin and spices. Taste of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and cranberry which mutes the pumpkin pie taste a bit. Fairly light body, bit thin but still a nice seasonal offering.

Dark brown in color. Great lacing. Paper thin head. Cinnamon. Vanilla. There is a trace of pumpkin spice. Slick texture. Medium carbonation. Hint of pumpkin flavor. It starts with a decent spicy flavor but finishes watery. Alright beer. Nothing to brag about.

one of the guys in my shop gave me a 6 pack for my birthday. hazed orange hued copper body with a lasting grey thin head. pumpkin spice is dominant in both the nose and flavor. lemon tart like flavor mixes in there. nutmeg notes linger a bit longer than i like. but i do enjoy the tartness on the edges of this otherwise spice bomb.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours an orange amber color with a tint of red within and a big fizzy white head. The head fades rather fast leaving a decent sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of a sweet brown sugar tainted pumpkin smell mixed with a whole lot of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. There is a little bit of a grainy and grassy smell along with hint of sourness in there as well. Taste – The taste begins with a decently spiced, light brown sugar sweetened pumpkin flavor that has just a hint of roast. The spice is heavy of a cinnamon and clove taste with these remaining throughout the taste and being joined some clove and cardamom later on. With the spice transitions, also comes some transitions in the sweetness, with the brown sugar fading and being replaced by some sour lemon and bitter cranberry tastes. With a little bit of grain and grass joining the tastes that persist to the end of the taste, one is left with a slightly sour and funked, moderately spiced, light roasted pumpkin flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. For the mix of slightly sour and pumpkin spiced flavors the feel seems rather decent, although since it is sort of a weird combination, I am not 100 % sure if it is appropriate or not…. Overall- A decent drinker, but nothing that I am al that wild about. With the pumpkin and brown sugar, the sourness in some ways does not go. Overall and OK beer, but not one I will go back to again and again.

Bottle at Len. Deep orange-amber, hazy, with a low head. Crusty pumpkin pie nose, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin and pie crust. Tart, spicy flavor, orange, weird and surprising. Don’t really dig the flavor. Thin and too spicy.

Bottle from Liquid Assets. Dark orange pumpkin body with thin, oily head. Nose is sweet, floral, with pumpkin notes. Taste also lots of pumpkin, malts and spices. Apples in the taste too. Quite prickly and carbonated. Not really my thing...

On tap at Pete’s Place. Pours a clear golden brown. Light white head. Light spiced nose. Overall light flavors. Touch of pumpkin at first then gets drowned with cranberry. A little graham crust in the back. Which I suppose I’m ok with since I like cranberry better than pumpkin. Better for me personally as I’m not a big pumpkin fan.

Smooth, light orange pour. What a nice variation on a pumpkin beer. Moderate spice and only hints of pumpkin on the palate. Good if you want a lighter pumpkin ale.

I was actually a little surprised and was really looking forward to this beer. Very underwhelming and average at best. This beer had almost no spice or kick of any kind. Light flavors throughout and little pumpkin.
