Whatís that bite of tartness doing in a pumpkin beer? Adding the unexpected kick of cranberry juice to brighten this traditionally spiced seasonal ale. PUMPKICK is brewed with plenty of pumpkin juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, but itís the cranberries and touch of lemongrass that send your tastebuds sailing.

Pours a great amber color with little head. Smells of pumpkin and cinnamon. Tastes of pumpkin and cloves. I canít find the cranberry. Finishes with a mild bitterness. Thereís very little to distinguish this beer from the army of more established pumpkin brews. Very disappointing given the uniqueness of the ingredients.

Clear amber pour with ring of near white head. The pumpkin spices of nutmeg, and cinnamon are pronounced on the front end, while the slight tartness of the cranberry show up on the tail which makes for a pleasant bite on the end. Much better than Kick was alone. I actually liked this a bit.

There is a dominance in the aroma of nutmeg, Cinnamon, and other spices. There is a touch of lemon in the aroma as well. It has a light orange and golden color to it. The head is medium bodied and white. It has a pleasant blend of nutmeg and spices that dominate the pumpkin and cranberry hints.

P: Fuzzy pale orange body with loads of floaters. Looks similar to pond water but lighter. No head formation but did have an off white swirly wake on top. S: Good pumpkin aroma, metal, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cranberry sauce. T/M: The spicy pumpkin that is present in the aroma is now shadowed by a big dose of sweet and bitter cranberry. It almost has a vinegar bite to it and interrupts the warming sensation of your typical pumpkin offering. The pumpkin and spices come through for a brief moment then are again masked by an intense metallic taste. Bitter baking cocoa in the midst of this flip flop of flavors. Light to medium body with prickly carbonation. O: Let me say that I appreciate and understand the concept behind this brew but I really can say it works for me. The cranberry is interesting but ruins the roasty and rich pumpkin and spice flavors expected in a pumpkin beer. This is not anything I would ever purchase again but it wasnt totally horrible considering the take on the style. Again I applaud New Belgium for stepping outside the box. Cheers!

Bottle. Smells of baking spices and malt. Taste is malty with a hint of pumpkin bread and lots of spice. This is an ok pumpkin beer but not a great one.

Mild aroma with just a hint of spices. Pours golden red with a slight haze. Noticeable pumpkin and cranberry flavors backed up by cinnamon and nutmeg. Not picking up much allspice. Medium carbonation.

On tap, Old Chicago, Bozeman MT. Pour is a deep cloudy amber, them white head. Nose is pumpkin, spice, malt. Taste is a light body, mostly bitter but a nice mix of sweet. Decent pumpkin beer from NB.

Pours a hazy burnt orange. Aromas of vanilla, pumpkin, and cinnamon. Some pumpkin flavour with fall spices and cranberry sourness. Ok.

Sounds great on paper but somehow adds up to less than the sum of its parts. Nice spices but I really didnít get much pumpkin or cranberry.
