Whatís that bite of tartness doing in a pumpkin beer? Adding the unexpected kick of cranberry juice to brighten this traditionally spiced seasonal ale. PUMPKICK is brewed with plenty of pumpkin juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, but itís the cranberries and touch of lemongrass that send your tastebuds sailing.

Rated from notes taken 21 Sep 2013 -- I was a little disappointed by this brew from New Belgium, probably had higher expectations than I normally do from Pumpkin Brews.

Tap, orange-red pour with a white head, sweet taste of pumpkin and some pumpkin pie spice, it is a little thin, I was expecting a little more from this one but it is okay enough for a fall seasonal

Bottle. Pours a nice copper color with a short off-white head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin pie spices. Flavor was lightly tart with nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin, light fruit and subtle caramel.

Rated on 01-16-214 (Bottle) This beer pours a medium size very smooth off-white head that mostly diminishes, golden transparent body, very fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aromas are malt, sweetness, tartness, pumpkin, spice, ginger, cinnamon, and some nutmeg. The flavor mimics the aromas along with being lightly acidic. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is light-medium bodied favoring on the light side. This beerís flavors did not entice me at all to want to have this beer again as the tartness ruined it for me. I did not detect any cranberry juice as noted in the Commercial Description.

Slightly hazy amber with a light head. Squash skin scents. Mealy and bitter malty, good.

Hiding in the back of my fridge for a while now (got tired of pumpkin brews) - from one of the ABCís (Betton I think). Hazy deep orange pour with visible floaties. Aroma is even pumpkin spice. Tastes are heavy on the nutmeg with a strange tang to it. Kind of putters-out in the end, but not overly sweet which is good by me.

This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a softly carbonated transparent dark orange colored body and an excellent lacing. The nice aroma was pumpkin. The smooth mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The balanced flavor contained notes of pumpkin and hops. An OK brew just nothing special.

Decent for a pumpkin style beer. The pumpkin is not overpowering but still present. There is also a decent amount of happiness on this.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2014 Got to give New Belgium credit for crafting a particularly bold pumpkin ale. Iím not usually keen on this style but admire the experimentation that went into this beer. It has a spice profile thatís intensely flavorful. Overall, the beer has a nice sweet/tart balance between the pumpkin and cranberry. One of New Belgiumís weirder offerings, but itís worth a try.

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber with a thick white film.

Aroma: Pumpkin meat, pumpkin pie spice profile, toasted malt.

Taste: Toasty malt, nutmeg, subtle Eurohop spice, bread crust. Finishes spicy with a tart twang.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, prickly carb. Juicy.

Overall: This is a great rendition of a nearly played out style. The cranberries are what made this beer.
