3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 12oz. Itís a hazy, golden-orange beer with a dense, finger-thick off-white to light beige head leaving curtains. Itís slightly berry-sour on the nose, with a spiced touch and something citrusy. Some caramel maltyness too. Itís very soft on the palate, a bit too carbonated actually, and if it werenít for the light tartness, it wouldíve been way too much. Itís medium to thin bodied. Spices, some bitterness, a touch of caramel and citrus peel in the flavor, finishing lightly sourish and with a nice combo of caramel, spices and citrus. Quite interesting this one, adding the cranberry juice and using less spices than everyone else seems like a good idea to me. 130829

Light amber pour with a big whitish head. Flavors of pumpkin pie spice, tartness from the cranberry, yeasty and tropical fruitiness on the finish. Interesting but not my favorite pumpkin beer.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle with a best before of 22Dec13. Pours with a lightly hazed orange hued body with a medium sized and somewhat retentive off-white head. Aromas are of lightly biscuity malt, slight pumpkin pie spice (nutmeg standing out the most), lightly fruity, tart, and tannic. Low ester. Flavors are medium malty (biscuity, wonder bread), dry, lightly tart, medium pie spices with a slight eugenol numbness. Somewhat layered malt character and pretty clean fermentation wise. Light tannin in the finish. Moderate to lightly high carbonation, lower bodied. Drinkable, but not super interesting.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ home picked up at RJís Fort Collins. From what Iíve gathered this is a lighter version of their Kick release last year. It is also their new fall seasonal. Pours a clear copper appearance with a nice cream colored head. Lightly tangy fruity, mild apple, fairly spicy cinnamon/nutmeg/vanilla, a bit toasted malty aroma. Mild caramel/pumpkin, toasted malty, vanilla, cran-apple, cinnamon, moderately dry flavor. Just a bit of tartness on the back end. The spices and tartness are held remarkably in check which is one of the main reasons that I somewhat enjoy this. The cranberry addition is a bit strange but it doesnít really bother me. Not as tart as Kick and easily more sessionable. Pretty easy to drink and probably chuggable.
