COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampantís finish is bone-dry.

Piney and crisp citrus with a bit of stickiness. Pretty good without being overly hoppy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On Tap. Pours a clear golden slight amber. Ample white frothy head. Aroma is mix of bright citrus and hops. Taste is blend of citrus and maybe some peach detected. Slightly bitter, dry finish.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. I didnít care much for this. The appearance is nice, but it has a weird tinny taste. Offputting aroma. This isnít doing it for me.

Sweet resinous aroma, a touch of tomato and chocolate. Golden lagerish looking appearance, though a nice amount of foamy offwhite head and lacing. Taste is a bit on the sweet side for an IPA, a touch of bitterness in the aftertaste, but a lot of that sweet resin meaty taste. Not bad.

Not surprisingly, this is like a more aggressive version of New Belgiumís Ranger IPA. Itís the same clear golden color with a trace of head, and the aroma is big, bitter citrus and grassy hops. The flavor is almost all hops, but the buttery malt in the background is rich and distinct. This will probably replace Ranger as my current fridge stocker, as long as I can keep finding it.

Shared 12 oz. bottle to rocks glass samplers, showing a deep golden color, a fair amount of white head froth, and clingy lacing. The nose was some sweetness, pine, mango & peach esters, and light grapefruit on the back. The flavor was similar, with the moderate hop bitterness showing earthy, rind-like astringency and some lingering quality. Maybe not enough of a sample, or there was a little age to the bottle, because I didnít really sense the imperial nature of this brew. A decent IPA nonetheless.
