COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry.

On draft. Dark golden color with almost no head. Earthy taste at first that explodes into tropical fruit. Very good beer.

Bottle... Clear amber pour with golden highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. The bouquet is a fruity, spicy swirl of honey, cantaloupe, mango and pluot with a subtle mélange of ground pepper - white, green and pink. Medium to full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and adequate carbonation. The flavor is fruity, spicy and medium-bitter – tropical fruits, melons and caustic peppercorns. Bitter, abrasive, dry finish. I would have enjoyed this more without all the spicy, peppery hops. They mauled the fruity components.

Thought it was a little hard on the throat. Loved the bubblegum, butterscotch, and clove hints, though.

1 citrus, grapefruit, and lemon. vegetal as it warms 2 golden to light copper, quickly dissipating white head 3 high bitterness with just a hint of toasty malt sweetness. very dry finish 4 medium body with a medium-high carb level. long bitter finish 5 A nice imperial ipa with a boatload of hop character. not sure of the vegetal aroma, could be a bad bottle.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a white foam head. Has a citrus hops aroma. Flavor is citrus, grass, sweet malts, and moderate bitterness. A bit too much on the sweet side for me. It’s ok.

Bottle with ’Enjoy by Sept 7 2014" into snifter glass, clear copper color with off-white fluffy head. Aroma of floral/fruity(orange, grapefruit, apricot)/faint piney hops and some grainy malt sweetness. Taste is the aroma adding some notes of grass/hay and chalky/earthy malt. Heavy body, low carbonation, dry, oily with lingering citrus/earthy finish. Nice enough DIPA but not wowing me either, maybe I need a fresher bottle.

13 oz bottle from Tipples. Pours a beautiful golden orange color with a fluffy white one finger head. Nice floral hop aroma , bready malts, citrus peel, grass, pine. Flavor is nice bitter pine, floral notes, lightly sweet bready malts. Body is medium to light, somewhat dry, bitterness on the tongue, with medium plus carbonation. This goes down very easy. A slight dirtiness on the finish is my only complaint, and it is very strange. But an otherwise solid DIPA that’s easy to find, and nice and light for the style. Just a weird flavor here and there that I can’t put my finger on.
