A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry.

12 oz. bottle from Bottled; drink by date of 8/9/15. Aroma: Moderate peach that tends towards acetone; moderate to heavy sweetness; lighter herbal quality. Appearance: Light copper pour with average carbonation holding up a foamy white head; the head eventually settles into a lightly bubbly skin. Flavor: Acetone is more noticeable than in the nose; sweetness is still going strong, and even increases towards the finish; herbal hops come in more toward the finish, but do nothing to quench the sweetness. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation, lingering/bitter finish. Overall: I’m guessing this would be much better fresh, but it’s still within date... it shouldn’t be this bad. Would not recommend purchasing so close to the bottle’s "drink by" date.

Sampled from bottle @ Leuven Innovation Beer Festival. Clear golden color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, hops, perfumy, sweetish, lightly bitter. Hmm not a very good DIPA.

Bottle. One of the best values around. Poured a copper color with a touch of gold; compact frothy head. Aroma of citrus, sugar, grapefruit, and fruit punch. Flavor was vibrant, if not abrupt. Orange and citrus and earthy. Briefly strong hops but mild finish

Bottle thanks to Ben! Pours a clear pale gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good of resin and pine with a bit of onion and a grain backbone. Flavor combines earthy grain, pine and a bit of resin with some grass underlying.

Great smelling hops and caramel. Color is a warm, inviting, mellow amber. This is one smooth brew. Foamed well. Citrus notes and a twist of bitterness but in just the right amount to balance it out. New Belgium does it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very decent DIPA. It was a bit old but still just before the end date. Aroma typical for a heavily hopped DIPA with an extra zest and soap. The flavor is zesty and resin but since this wasn’t completely fresh it went strongly into malt side with a sponge cake background. Still nice stuff.

Nice mass-produced big IPA. Dark golden color. Aroma is peachy and piney. The taste is very dank and very sweet, with lots of peach and malt. A little much for me, but not too heavy considering the abv. Good stuff.

bottle. Pours clear golden with a medium head that dininishes quickly and doesn’t leave as much lacing as I’d like. Aroma is pure grass, very thick and hop-forward. The taste is slightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly salty. The mouthfeel is a tad too thin and there are some phenolic notes in the finish. A little rough around the edges for NB.

One of the better mass-produced IPA's that I've tasted. Definitely a good choice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
