A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampantís finish is bone-dry.

Nice appearance, but this is still one of the most disappointing New Belgium beers I have tried. The bitterness is too much for the dry finish. This was my second attempt to see if it was different. The mild peach flavor and scent doesnít quite fit. Definitely pales in comparison to its competitors. However, not as boozy as the first time I had it.

Poured into a tulip from a 12 oz bottle, clear golden with a large white head. Nose was funky citrus, mostly orange, possibly ripe peach. Taste was bitter, just a hint of sweetness. Overall I was surprised, for the cost it was more than drinkable.

12 oz bottle into tulip. Minneapolis. Appearance: copper colored, transparent, with a massive head with excellent lacing. Aroma: hops-circus and pine. Malted barley. Taste: dry sweetness followed by bitterness. Not overly bitter. Palate: medium body. Normal carbonation. Overall: IPA is not my preferred style, but this one was not so bad. Bitterness was present, but not overwhelming. Base beer is not amazing, but decent. In general this was a decent beer.

Címon, people, rate this relative to its peers, it stinks. Color was orange, head was ok, aroma was funky. Flavor was mostly bittering hops, some lighter fruits, trash cans, some resinous, blah. Mouthfeel was moderate in body, moderately carbonated. A pitiful dIPA.

This was from a bottle poured into a Hefeweizen glass. It poured a nice light orange/coppery color. Nice long lasting yellow-ish head. The first aroma was of pine sap covering the hands, with a citric backdrop. Even to the last drop I was reminded of pine needles/sap. The taste was definitely bitter with an orange-lemon rind kind of taste. Not totally unpleasant but not a favorite. It reminded of lemon or orange rind candy.

Belgian-style ipa with notes of cereal, floral, citrus, vanilla aromas. Orange / golden appearance, clear, tan foam. Medium sweetness, peach and butterscotch. Medium bitterness, medium body, lively carbonation, bitter finish. Alcohol taste present but not overpowering.

Pours light copper with a huge, lacy snow-white head. Peach hops in the aroma. Thereís fruit-basket and blueberry on the palate (most likely Mosaic hops) and a citrusy, bitter finish (most likely Centennial hops). Soft, round palate, hides its ABV very well. This is a DIPA for those who donít like the pin-prickling, resinous style. Hats off to NB for offering a different take on the style!

Nice brown orange color with some foam and solid lacing. Definite notes of citrus in the flavor, with a smooth mouth feel and pleasant astringent feel to it.
