A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampantís finish is bone-dry.

Not bad. Pours a dark golden with great lacing. Aromas of citrus and pine. Lots of bitter notes. It seems a little like makinga DIPA for the sake of making one. Still Ok though.

Citrus, spruce, floral very sweet over the top ipa, but not over the top bitterness. Sweet syrup comes across more than anything else here for me.

bottle - Pours clear copper with a small off-white head. It has a rich citrus hop aroma, big on the grapefruit, with a hint of herbal smell. The flavor is, as expected, high on bitterness. Thereís plenty of citrus and a solid malt backbone to balance it. Medium to full bodied, itís not as bitter as some IIPAs, a fact that will please some people and disappoint others. Either way itís a good beer.

Hoppy. It immediately hits you on a very earthy or woodsy sort of way. Feels nice on the palate. Some malt comes in at the end, and a please my bitterness hangs around. It's nice, but I would prefer the less in our face Ranger IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a light amber. Has a malt, pine, and light fruity hop aroma. Taste is very malty and fruity upfront with some like bitterness from hops at the end.

First... "burly and bitter"? Not quite, but good try, New Belgium. Copper, very clear, and clean-bodied on the eyes with a super-frothy, dense, cloud white head, this is really a looker. The lacing is just as billowy! The aroma is candy-like, with floral, fruity, almost resinous hops combining nicely with sligthly caramelized malts. Itís a light-spirited, floral experience thatís a nice lead up to the flavor, which is very enjoyable. In the mouth itís very, very soft. A touch of asparagus greets your taste buds as it enters the mouth, followed closely by an almost resinous, very floral and spicy hop flavor that really covers the tongue and rules the show. It is strongly flavored, and although there is a bite of clean, somewhat lasting bitterness in the finish, itís far from burly. In fact, Iíd call it more feminine because of its beauty and softness. Bitter? A little, but the softness and flavor palate of the beer really makes it an enjoyable, easy bitterness. Looking for a soft double IPA packed with hop flavor and enough bitterness to counter it? This is your beer. Oh... but Iím not a big fan of the gold label. The bottle might as well be wearing glittered legwarmers.

Honey aroma welcomes the drinker into this amazing beer. Pretty, deep golden color with active layer of carbonation. Supreme taste, crisp enough to refresh. And a sinister, high alcohol content catches up with you for a good farewell.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota. Pours a semi-clear golden amber colored brew with a thick and rocky off-white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, red grapefruit, a hint of pine, Ivory soap and a touch of caramel malt. Taste is full bodied, quite sweet, with flavors of tropical fruit, red grapefruit, a hint of Walla Walla onions, and white pine. Finish is strong sweetened spicy and quite bitter. Some peach nectar and tropical fruit aftertaste that lingers with the bitterness. Itíll keep the hop heads happy.
