3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Huge amounts of caramel blended nicely with citrus peels and toffee. Hints of cinnamon. Nice grapefruit bitterness. The beer is ultimately hurt as it warms and tastes a bit metallic, but still drinkable.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap: clear yellow gold with a white head and sticky lacing. Light citrusy aroma with a bitter taste. Seems to be missing some of the sweetness and thickness of most 2IPAs. Not bad, more like an regular ipa

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from bottle into DFH/SN IPA glass. Pours a clear golden color with a thick fluffy white head leaving nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is very hoppy with some pineapple and pine notes. Taste is piney upfront and as catch the taste of alcohol as it progresses. Mouthfeel seems a little thin but finishes cleanly.

Faint aroma but pleasant. Weak palate for an IIPA. More pungent than bitter.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured up on tap at Flanny’s with a clear gold body supporting a white head of foam. The aroma offers up malt sweetened citrus hoppiness with ribbons of mango here and there too. The taste is up front bitter citrus hops that attempt to be sweetened up by sugary malts but maintain a healthy citrus hop bitterness that even gets resiny to midway. It stays rich and citrusy and dries out a tad into the finish. It actually seems bigger than the stated 7.5% ABV which, to me, lines up nicely with typical IIPA style attributes.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 6, 2014 Picked it up after a long while of not having it. I must say I think the reason why I like this brew so much is the fact that it is unlike any other dipa’s I have had. It has a bready camel type flavor that seems to be unique to this and the Ranger. Peanuts? Maybe a little bit but fresh it is excellent and different. In a real crowded field I like the uniqueness here. It is not as hoppy as others by I do taste complexity and balance. HIGH drinkability for 8.5 abv!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very clear orange, visibly less carbonation than one would expect. Smells nice and resinous. Taste initially seems mild but the finish is super hoppy. I can enjoy this, but it’s probably not what most are looking for in an imperial IPA.
