A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry.

Bottle. Golden color with a foamy one finger head. Lacing all over glass. Nice aroma of fresh tropical/citrus hops. Medium heavy bitterness. Very nice tropical fruity/citrus notes. Pineapple, peach, grapefruit notes. Medium bodied. An enjoyable Dipa.

Not for me. In many ways should shape up to be a great brew, great color nice lacing, good aroma. But it’s all about taste in the end and this one to me was "trouty." Yep, as in the fish. could just be me. I’m sure others will love it. Hope I didn’t ruin it for anyone.

Almost expertly hoppy, which is bizarre considering how meandering and toothless New Belgium’s other IPAs are. Efficient nose and a quasi-herculean bite from a company not known for their bitterness. Decent substitute when other, grander india pale ales are not available.

A niece’s first birthday party is always made better when the hosts provide beer. Pours a touch dark for style with decent white head. Scent is piney and fresh. Taste starts slightly bitter and moves into an enjoyable sweetness. Well balanced mouthfeel. Bottle - Niece’s Birthday Party

650mL bottle. Pours a silky clear golden honey colour with a small but dense white head. Tropical stone fruits on the nose with a hint of toffee in the back ground which also follows through the the flavour with a deep bitter resinous finish.

Best by 14JUL13 Golden, one to two fingers of light creamy foam, excellent clarity. Smells of grapefruit, peach, resin, pine, honey and a little bit of mint. Tastes sweet, hoppy, peaches still there, resin, some alcohol, a bit of grapefruit pith. The malt is sweet and manages the assertive hop character. medium bodied with tight and pleasant carb and an off-dry finish. Strong work New Belgium, I think this is a little too fresh (*gasp*) and that with a couple more weeks the booze will calm and the hops will meld just a touch more creating an outstanding beer - and at just over a dime an oz will be hard to beat!

Bottle: Bright golden pour with a mountain of creamy head. Tons of sticky lacing throughout. Nose is lightly tropical, but mainly floral and pine. Lots of resin comes through in the flavor and what I would describe as a smooth level of bitterness. Good floral flavors… maybe a little sage too. Finishes easy and the floral hops linger. Nice.

Backlog purge. From 12 oz bottle. Dark orange pour. Tropical fruit aroma, pretty nice stone fruit with citrus accents. Flavor is solvent, concentrated citrus peel, astringent.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium sized white head, average retention. The aroma has a mix of pine, grapefruit, some light pineapple, and plenty of astringency. The taste has a medium bitterness that follows with almost a peach or nectarine balance.. some grapefruit on the very finish. Not a show stopped but pretty nice.
