A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry.

New Belgium Rampant Imperial IPA has a medium, off-white head and a clear, deep golden appearance, with some tiny white specks suspended here and there. There is a good amount of lacing left behind and a few bubbles ascending. The aroma is sharp, with sweet malt, citrus, piney hops, and white bread. Taste is of heavy hop oil, pine, grapefruit and grapefruit rind, strong bitterness, and white bread. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, and slick, and New Belgium Rampant Imperial IPA finishes very dry, bitter, sweet, and fairly drinkable, with sips. Overall this is a nice one, and I suggest checking it out. RJT

Pours a slightly hazy pale golden color with a well-retaining white head. Aromas of grapefruit and orange peel with a bit of a sting in the nostrils. The mouthfeel is powderish-cottony and somewhat pillowy. Starts with hard candy peachy-lemon, but soon yields to more sour and bitter lemon. The malt provides depth underneath the prominent esters. Dries quite a bit at the finish. Unique and interesting.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2014 22oz Bomber. The beer to a copper color with a large white head. The aroma is strong with a citrus grapefruit aroma & mild alcohol aroma. The flavor is strong on the piney citrus hop flavor. Overall an excellent imperial IPA.

Bottle at Patrick's mansion with Taylor Patrick Scott and John-Michael. Pours light copper. Aroma pine and mild citrus hops. Taste is pine mahogany orange. Finish is lasting and slightly harsh and more of the same. Decent ipa.

real lovely choice of hops. Very sweet but also very nicely done. I easily caught the mix and a 6 pack was easily consumed with boss freakin’ nachos. This is real close to Hop Stooid but is a bet sweeter. Good stuff.

Sampled during CBC 2013. Orange pour with a small khaki head. Nice aroma, tropical fruits, melons, and citrus, hints of dank resin, light malts. Slightly disappointing flavor, more sweet maltiness, not as much fresh fruit and hop. Not bad.

Hazy golden appearance, thin white head. Aroma is grapefruit hops. Flavor is bright grapefruit hops with very light body. Not too strong given the alcohol Wife: 3.7
