A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampantís finish is bone-dry.

Pours clear golden with thick bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet bready malt with some floral and citrusy hops. Taste is sweet malt upfront with some peach and citrus in the follow through. Aftertaste is resinous and citrusy hops with some sweet malt in the finish. Palate is thin and sticky. Overall nice balanced easy drinking Imperial IPA.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2014 Drank from bottle My favorite Beer period. This is a beer I have had multiple times and always go back to it. Taste is grapefruit, mango and pine, with a nice dry finish. Bitter but it is not overpowering and the after taste does not linger.

12 oz bottle...a worthy DIPA (and especially at the $10.69/6 pack price) I didnít taste the íheavy peach tonesí as advertised, but rather the usual citrus/pine, however, nicely dry on the finish.

Very nice very drinkable DIPA, clean fresh, piney grapefruit. Well malted. Superior for the style. Grapefruit coloured body. Thanks Duff.

Bottle, 12oz. It pours a clear, dark golden body and a finger-thick, dense, off-white head leaving some cute curtains. Immediately after popping the cap, the wonderful scent of aromatic American hops hits the nose, with grapefruit, green pine cones and a generic citrusy touch. Some malty scents and a little alcohol too, but not much. Itís quite full-bodied, with a nice level of carbonation. It could maybe have had a bit more bitterness, but then, itís not so sweet that it needs it. Grapefruit and pine cones runs the rest of the show, lasting for a good while. Overall, most definitely a beer I could have again, a quite balanced and easy drinkable IIPA. 130831

A vigorous pour into my New Belgium globe glass produces a three finger thick, pale, off-white colored head. The beer is a bright, amber color that shows a brilliantly clear, almost metallic, copper hue when held up to the light. The beer smells brightly of tropical fruit, and then earthy herbal notes, as well as a touch of spicy hop character. Big guava notes, black pepper, lychee, peach syrup, and some floral apricot notes as well as pine needle notes, perhaps a hint of menthol, but the fruit hop notes are definitely the dominant notes here.

Bitter up front, and through to the finish as well, but there is a hugely expressive fruit character, and a woody pine note. Notes of floral peach syrup, concentrated guava notes, woody peppery notes, and lots of herbal leaning lychee. The malt character is purely supporting here, it barely provides some light cracker like notes, perhaps a touch of caramelized character, and just enough malt to accentuate the expressive, dominant hop character. The body is light, but still has some texture to it, definitely on the light side for an Imperial IPA, but that makes it all the more appealing.

Much nicer than I was expecting, the expressive hop character with its vibrant fruitiness, biting bitterness and light herbal notes that are done at a low enough level that it doesnít get in the way of the other notes.

Bottle shared by Dr Silverworm. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus and earthy aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and lively carbonation. Moderate to heavy complex bitter flavor with a moderate to heavy complex bitter finish of medium to long duration. This is a solid beer.

Draft at Falling Rock Tap House. Pours a fairly pale, fairly cloudy gold color with an inch of white head. Notes of grass, citrus, leaves, straw, pale and sweet malts, and dry earth. Light-medium bodied, with a smooth, earthy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Unusual DIPA. I liked it, though.
