COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry.

Pours a clear bright dark golden with a respectable fluffy white head. Aroma is pine and grapefruit. Sweet pale malt taste with plenty of sour yellow grapefruit that finishes quite bitter, but not over done. Well balanced, but certainly favoring the hops. Refreshing.

Coniferous hoppy aroma. Light bodied and a little hot on the tongue, with resiny hop flavor with sharp but not overpowering foretongue bitterness. Doesn’t hide it’s 8.5% abv, but quite drinkable nevertheless.

underwhelming? citrus, pine, grass. medium-light, fairly dry. everything’s there but it just doesn’t really come together

Cloudy orange yellow pour. Light citrus aroma with some fruit. Sweet fruit flavour with a hop bitterness edge, say naartjies? Dry finish, the description does not lie

Tap at Capital Beerfest 2013. Pours dark dishwater gold with a creamy off-white head. Very citrus hoppy aroma.Med + body. Flavor is very strong citrus mixed hop over light caramel. Nicely done.

Picked up at the COOP last night... Poured into my HotD goblet.. Fairly clear golden brew... good looking 2 finger head.... great lacing and retention. Nose is big and fruity... light pale maltiness.. very hop dominant. NB "House Malt" is unmistakable in my mind... toasty/biscuity... thankfully this is a heavily hopped beer... hops are very fruity... melon and peach... Body is good for the style.. not too heavy, prickly carbonation. Pretty good... I just don’t care for the NB maltiness... It is always a distraction for me.

Wow, this is an Impy? Maybe because of the profoundly dry finish, (which is working well here) but this does NOT come across as 8.5%. Nose is citric and expressive... Centennial is present, but not quite as forward as I would have liked. Very well brewed, deserving of praise, but just not quite what I like to find in the style. Hop whores need apply! ;-)

Bottle. Date on the side: 07/07/13. A crystal clear amber pour with a finger-thick off-white head. The pungent aroma reeks of grapefruits, resiny pine, oranges, zesty citrus rinds, dried apricots, vanilla, and some caramel maltiness. Smells delicious! Goes down relatively medium-bodied, smooth, and slightly syrupy. A big caramel maltiness upfront taste-wise along with a sizable doughy breadiness. Hints of peaches and cream in the middle. Tons of grapefruits and zesty citrus rinds at the end. The finish is spicy and quite drying. A fair amount of alcohol warmth throughout. A well-balanced standard for the style.

Pretty hoppy. Lots of lacing. Tasty but I cant tell if my palate is wrecked because I’m at the lupilin carnival. Smooth for an imperial ipa.

Another local supermarket tick! Copper pour with a white head. Aroma is fruity, citrus. Taste is citrusy, a little spice. It was a little bitter and had a dry finish.
