2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This just a hopped up IPA...not much more. Anyone can toss a ton of hops in there and crank up the IBUís...this needs something more.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Augusta, Ga - Toast Wine and Beverage - 12 oz bottle. Pours a medium copper with a sticky white head that leaves a fair amount of lacing. Fresh fragrant aroma with some strong spruce accents, some cherry notes. Flavor is full bodied and bold with plenty of sticky hop oriented citrus bitterness, a bit of nuttiness, some caramel, and some back end booziness. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it. Pretty solid.

1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2013 --I had another last night and it wasnít SO bad. Maybe I ate something beforehand that was making my taste buds go crazy. Iím sorry New Belgium- Rampant is ok, but Ranger is better. ---
**This was bad.. After taste is bad. I canít even describe it. I can hardly believe the positive comments about this brew. Metallic after taste. Iím a New Belgium fan, but dang do they have misses. I know the beer is temperature sensitive.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle. Clear golden amber with a spotty white head and some lacing. Aroma of bready malt and lots of herbal tea with a bit of citrus. Flavor is very bitter with a doughy taste and light alcohol heat. Medium body with soft carbonation. Interesting hop character in this one, very bitter and lots of herbal aroma.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Canít comment on appearance, as I drank it right from the bottle while in a cab in Vegas. Aroma (from the neck) is thick vegetal hops, like a steamy coniferous forest. On the palate this holds true, with an oily piney hoppy character with an odd perfumey presence in the finish. It didnít quite ruin it for me, but did seem intrusive. It was edging on the annoying "bath powder" note I was finding in many of Phillipsí beers not long ago, but not quite that unpleasant (and the base beer was much better too, so maybe this comparison is moot). I have more bottles that I brought home, so I look forward to trying this again with a more critical mindset.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Pours a hazy amber gold with a frothy cap of white that retains throughout the session.
Aroma: A nice bouquet of skunky citrusy hops. Some pineapple and Ďgrandma perfumeyí yeast.
Taste: Dry malt, spicy yeast. Grapefruit and pineapple. Layers of subtle hops: some herbal spicy hop notes, and some juicy grapefruit hops. Finishes earthy with a rather quick duration.
Mouthfeel: Pretty dry, full bodied, prickly carbonation.
Overall: My gut reaction was this isnít what Iím looking for in a Double IPA, then as I drank the second half of the bottle, I began to appreciate the beer for what it is, and how this is a great intro to Double IPAs type of beer. Itís clean, dry and it doesnít bombard you with caramel malt. Itís very drinkable, just missing the bitterness most hop heads look for in a beer that has IPA in the name.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle:   Golden, very clear, thin to moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing.   Soft hop/citrusy nose, a touch of staleness.   Old/stale fruitness up front, soft hop presense, a bit dank and sweaty.   If you wanted a bright IIPA, this isnít it.   Not bad, but its not giving me chub.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Slight pithy finish, pale fruitiness of an unknown origin, and just general dank/sweatiness that I wished werenít there.   Not as dry as others, and a bit more stale/dank/basement like.   Weird fruitiness too, one that isnít part of most IIPAs.   Perhaps from the choice of hops.   Unimpressed.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is one of the most pleasing hop aromas that I've come across in an IPA.
The taste is interesting and mildly sweet with plenty of depth. He varying character of the different hop varieties come through but do remain in balance.
Peach comes through on the back of the palate and pine on the front.
While not necessarily sure to be a crowd pleaser (you did pickup and Imperial IPA!), the balance, boldness and depth of this wonderful brew really shine.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear golden, white head, standard IPA appearance, but aromas as well as flavors are very unique. Not necessarily in a good way or a bad way. What is this? New plastic packaging type of aroma? A flavor I canít relate to anything. The bitterness is moderate, but the hop flavor is just difficult for me to describe. It must be the Mosaic and Calypso hops... I am not very familiar with them. I sort of think an imperial IPA this different should be marketed as such.
