COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2013 UPDATE 6.11.13 Had this on tap. Still the same beer, still hoppy and bitter. Good masking of alcohol. Still ridiculously resinous, this shit’s too much for me!

Bottle. Pours copper with a half finger of white head. Decent retention and some noticeable lacing. Aroma is strong hoppy, bitter, resinous, mild alcohol. Flavor is moderately hoppy, resinous with a bitter hop aftertaste. Alcohol is relatively well masked as expected. Moderate carbonation medium body, oily mouthfeel, and mildly astringent texture. A solid IPA.

Orange/gold pour with frothy white head and lace. Aroma is resiny hops and caramel malt. Sweet malt, breadiness, floral hops, and resiny as well. Medium body with good carbonation.

Pours clear amber with a white head. Dank, earthy hops with a malty aroma. Fairly thick mouthfeel. Dank pepper and spicy hops. Lingering bitterness. Fairly sweet but overly cloying. This is good for people who like this type of IPA.

Crisp amber/good with an off white head. Nose is fresh citrus, florals, light fruit. Very easy on the palate, very light hops, florals, great finish.

Had on tap. Pours a clear light gold with a great head and head retention. Plenty of lacing as the drink progresses. The aroma is very weak and disappointing. There is a minty and overripe fruit character that I don’t really care for and it is just very one dimensional and shallow. The flavor is a bit better but not much. More mintyness along with some overripe tropical fruit. Biscuit and that signature New Belgium taste that I assume is from the yeast. Moderate bitterness with a sticky finish. Overall, I am not impressed at all with this effort. I don’t care for the hop character and it is too sweet. Ranger is a much better beer.

Small draft at the Glendale Yard House with Rhino and Sarah for a kid-free evening. really pleasant DIPA: lots of fruity hops with grapefruit and pineapple flavors plus a little resin. Good malt backbone for balance. Very easy drinking and very enjoyable.

The beautiful aroma of hops kisses my nose...mmmmm.. The beer smells great and as i poured it i noticed it poured like a light bodied brew. I was expecting a thick brew. Its a nice crystal clear golden ipa with a good white foamy head. It is light bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. The first taste is sweet and bitter. Then the hop flavor and bitterness come in the aftertaste. For 8.5 percent it does not taste that way. The bitterness hide the alcohol well. Its a good brew.

This just a hopped up IPA...not much more. Anyone can toss a ton of hops in there and crank up the IBU’s...this needs something more.

Augusta, Ga - Toast Wine and Beverage - 12 oz bottle. Pours a medium copper with a sticky white head that leaves a fair amount of lacing. Fresh fragrant aroma with some strong spruce accents, some cherry notes. Flavor is full bodied and bold with plenty of sticky hop oriented citrus bitterness, a bit of nuttiness, some caramel, and some back end booziness. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it. Pretty solid.
