A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant’s finish is bone-dry.

22 ounce bottle into signature globe glass, best before 7/7/2013. Pours crystal clear golden amber color with a nice 2-3 finger dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange peel, peach, pine, lemon zest, pineapple, light honey, pine resin, and floral earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of hop notes with a fairly moderate malt backbone; very unique aromas as well. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, peach, pine, lemon zest, orange rind, pineapple, floral, light honey, pine resin, and floral earthiness. Nice amount of citrus pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus zest, peach, pine, lemon, pineapple, floral, light honey, and pine resin on the finish for a while. Damn nice balance and complexity of hop flavors; with a light-moderate malt backbone; with some light cloying pine bitterness on the finish, but not really that bad. Medium carbonation and body; with a very sticky, crisp, and lightly creamy mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. Very nice and unique hop complexity with moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. The Mosaic and Calypso hops were definitely different, but it worked out very well. No complaints at all, really enjoyed this one.

Bottle. Pours deep golden with a small white froth. Aroma is peachy and piney with some slight tropical fruit notes. Some light biscuit and sweet caramel notes behind. Flavor starts with a sharp pine, woody note that quickly turns to a more fruity peach and citrus character. Finishes bitter but still sweet and herbal. Medium body and a crisp carbonation. Decent double ipa.

Bottle. Pungent centennial hop aroma. Fluffy white head. Serious pucker power. Not palate wrecker level but good. Serious dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Clear golden pour with a frothy white head. Great retention and lace. Aroma was light citrus, grapefruit and earthy spice. Flavors were light grapefruit and some pine. Earthy. Light bitter finish. Light to medium mouthfeel. This was super simple, clean and citrusy. I really enjoyed it.

Bottle. Pours with a clear golden hued body with a very large and retentive white head. Great lace. Aromas are of grass (strong) tropical fruit, berries and green papaya. Hugely grassy and spicy notes with some unripe peach, melon, herbs and sweet orange. Flavors are a touch to sweet on the malt, very juicy and full hop flavors with grass, mango, papaya and mosaic like berry character. Finishes quite bitter but not harshly so. Medium dry, bitter balance. Lively carbonation, medium low bodied, lightly boozy. Pretty solid and definitely worth drinking if you know the freshness date of the bottle (which is provided) or keg.

Light copper pour - thick, soapy head that shrinks to a sticky lace - moderate clean sweetness in the nose serves as a base for pungent hop aromas of citrus, mango, pine - medium body, fairly soft carbonation - the flavor is much like the aroma - clean sweetness up front, some tropical flavors - becomes quite bitter through the middle, with peppery and pine-like hops - bitterness gets to be a little much in the finish, but otherwise this is fairly clean, simple and enjoyable - I’m surprised I like it as much as I do.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a clear golden amber with a thick white head and nice lacing in the glass, looks nice at least, the aroma has a little bit of melon mixed with some pine and hops, nothing crazy but seems ok on the nose, the flavor has some melon and citrus on the front end with an astrigent finish, kind of a weird mouthfeel, had me going until the finish really, thought I would like it but just doesn’t blow me away by any means, probably the only sixer I will be picking up. Watch out future trades, this will probably pop in as an extra.
