4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is an amazing showcase of hops. The aroma melds citrus, apricots, pineapple and spruce with the promise of sweet carmel malt. It never follows through on that promise; the unrelenting bitterness that replaces it is a multilayered hop experience. This beer gets back to IIPAís origins, hop bomb. They donít need to take the alcohol any higher than its 8.5%, because thereís not supposed to be any "balance." An exemplar of the style with hops that Vinnie hadnít dreamed of when he started down this road.

Pours a clear golden with a fluffy head with some lacing. Nice aromas of citrus and pine. The taste is fruity, peach? Well balanced and complex with some bitterness at the finish. I really like this one.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from The Wine Emporium November 2013. This is a big hoppy beer that takes a bit of work to get through. Citrus dominates the aroma and the finish is long and dry.

Taster at brew haha - nose is citrus. Sip adds lemon peel and a malty backbone. Fairly bitter. Somewhat light for the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours amber with a large head.
Nose shows overt resinous, piny and grassy hops with sweet backing from lashes of clean malt.
Very hoppy flavours. Very piny, grapefruit-like and citrussy. Orange peel or orange bitters. A fair bit of sweet clean malt balances things out.
Carbonation is too high.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This IMPERIAL IPA is a very piney bitter, citrus tasting beer. This beer is probably only going to be enjoyed by real beer drinkers that enjoy good beer . Not the best IPA but worth a try.
