3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a light bronze, like a watered down iced tea (I like mine darker) with a frothy, white head. It has great clarity. Maybe too clear. Nose is enticing....peaches, light grapefruit, lemon peel, dough, and pine. Very flavorful. Starts sweet and malty and quickly morphs into white fleshed stone fruit, grapefruit, and oranges. Very syrupy and sappy. Some bitterness but not overwhelming. Hard to overcome the maltiness on this one. It does manage to finish with a lingering pungency. Great brew but not very sessionable. It is rich and thick. Solid offering, very enjoyable...but 3 or 4 will do you.

Pleasant aroma..pours a nice copper color with a robust head..smooth and creamy in the mouth with a moderate bitterness...light fruity finish. Very drinkable big beer that’s not overpowering.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle from a 6er. Pours copper amber, white head. Aroma’s kinda piney hoppy. Taste is kinda bitter with that characteristic New Belgium meh. Not much to recommend it; other buyers at my local agree by leaving it to moulder on the shelves.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells citrusy but not much else behind it. Hops hit right off the bat followed by sweetness and then a good amount of bitterness. Doesn't quite have the kick expected of an imperial IPA but a very decent beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. Nice amber pour with a frothy white head. Decent lacing. A mix of pine and citrus in the nose. Hop forward on the tongue with slight pine resin notes and a little ripe orange and grapefruit. Decent malt backbone. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Solid.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From 22 oz bottle...pours gold with big head. Aroma of light straw hops. Big mouthfeel. Flavors of hips, rosted malts, slight cream of tartar. Overall creamy, bold and bitter yet I’ve bought several six packs...I like it much more than the Ranger.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice IPA but i thought the Flying Dog i rated one before had a much more pleasant taste. This one was a little harsher and had more of the big bite to it than the earlier. Still good drinking but not as enjoyable.

Got a similar taste I get from dogfish beers. Think it's coming from a specialty grain, aromatic?
