A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampantís finish is bone-dry.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a dark gold color with nice clarity. The head is a nice-looking three finger offwhite shade. It has a good frothiness to it, and also retains very well. Plenty of lacing is left on the glass. S: I half-imagined this would be similar to a bigger version of Ranger, and the herbal hop tones mixed with biscuity yeast told me I was right. Thereís something not entirely right sitting with me aromatically that I canít put my finger on, so Iím docking points. T: I donít like how the biscuity flavors interact with the hop profile; it almost creates a vague ammonia-esque flavor. Anyways, this unpleasant flavor fades away right before the middle of the brew, being supplanted with light piny qualities, a touch of citrus, and caramel malt. At first, Iím not enthused by the opening flavors, but they do fade away leaving a reasonable but unassuming DIPA. M: Dry and crisp. The finish washes away some of the less pleasant notes well, which helps inspire additional drinkability. This is probably the best feature. O: I was expecting an imperialized Ranger, and I got an imperialized Ranger...for better or worse. Like Ranger, I could see this one being significantly better on tap. The dry, easy drinking nature does an okay job of covering up its flaws, but there are still far superior options out there that you should pick up instead - and not even its price point can sway me otherwise.

Pale clear gold, head reduced to rim. Pure fresh citrus hops. Different esters, lupulin. Bitter hops, Thai herbs, floral. Light to medium bodied, hopoil-slick, very dry feel. Excellent IIPA, New Belgium can do it too.

Bottle at Leuven innovation festival. Clear golden with white head. Lots of herbal hops, marihuana, orange, syrupy sweetness underneath a thick bitterness. Thereís some fruits but this is way more on the dank weed side. Medium bodied with sticky feel. Nice one.

Is it strange that I liked this more, because it wasnít as "perfect" or "stylish" as I thought it would be? It pours a little more cloudy than I had imagines, and smells, well, a little "primitive"? Anyhow, all that abides when you drink it, A real credit to its kind, full hop flavour, one of which Iím not even sure I can say I have had in a beer before, nice burn on the way down, after some sweet notes, in turn offset by the fine strong alcohol. A lovely beer.

Bottle. clear red golden, low carbonation, white head. Sweet perfumed american hop aromatics (pine, lychee). Medium full body, slightly sweet&sticky, well balanced by grassy hop dryness, light onions, parsly finish. Quite drinkable and pleasant enough, but I must admit I am getting more and more annoyed with the style.

Bottle - Hop flavor but not a bitter taste. Citrus notes on the palate. Sweet flavor as well which counters the bitterness. While it has 8.5% alcohol, there is no alcohol taste. Its a good beer but nothing over the top, donít think I could drink several of these in a row.
