COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampantís finish is bone-dry.

Poured from a large bottle, I smell citrus and lotís of hops. I taste lots of hops and bitterness, it has a very clean finished. Not bad.

Bottle at Leuven innovation festival. Clear golden with white head. Lots of herbal hops, marihuana, orange, syrupy sweetness underneath a thick bitterness. Thereís some fruits but this is way more on the dank weed side. Medium bodied with sticky feel. Nice one.

Clear dark yellow, big fluffy lasting lacing foam head. Bittersweet aroma and taste. Lasting aftertaste. (Houston 201505)

Is it strange that I liked this more, because it wasnít as "perfect" or "stylish" as I thought it would be? It pours a little more cloudy than I had imagines, and smells, well, a little "primitive"? Anyhow, all that abides when you drink it, A real credit to its kind, full hop flavour, one of which Iím not even sure I can say I have had in a beer before, nice burn on the way down, after some sweet notes, in turn offset by the fine strong alcohol. A lovely beer.

Bottle. clear red golden, low carbonation, white head. Sweet perfumed american hop aromatics (pine, lychee). Medium full body, slightly sweet&sticky, well balanced by grassy hop dryness, light onions, parsly finish. Quite drinkable and pleasant enough, but I must admit I am getting more and more annoyed with the style.

Bottle - Hop flavor but not a bitter taste. Citrus notes on the palate. Sweet flavor as well which counters the bitterness. While it has 8.5% alcohol, there is no alcohol taste. Its a good beer but nothing over the top, donít think I could drink several of these in a row.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. A stylistic favorite of mine that new Belgium did well. I don't love many of their beers but this one hits the mark for an imperial ipa ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

lx49j.0^ Enjoying this so far. nice and bitter with a very malty and thick base. Donít know what a stonefruit is but I assume I am tasting it right now. Finally the air has cleared as my cat unleashed the beast in the litter box. Peaches. Sitting out of the fridge for over an hour and a half. Very interesting aroma taht I donít quite get but really dig. Itís a deep huff that gains it not the average rim job. Flavour is well worth the $ spent, which wasnít much in this out of control, massive disposable income beer world of Alberta. Early on this was a mean bitter beast and that was cool. Much more syrupy now. Great - just saw the best before date of March 15th. I suck for not noticing that but a small, lightly and only temporarily annoyed FUCK YOU goes to Keg ín Cork. Iím already down to 2 new beers every 2 or 3 weeks. I could have just got more Fat Tug for 7 bux. Either way.... who give a fuck as Iím still enjoying what this íoldí (ha!) beer is offering up to my taste buds. Now I donít feel like reviewing this any more.

Pour is medium at best (Cloudy orange-yellow with faded white head). Aroma is of strong hops/pine/melon/gaoobatat/whatever!) Favors is of hops, melon, pine, and weird bubble gum. Upper level alcohol content is not detected whatsoever. After 3 bags of Old Dutch pretzels aftertaste of insane hops still punched itís way through. Not bad at all. Alcohol content is invisible!!! Bottle from VJís Mart in West Allis/Milwaukee.

New Belgium Rampant is a pretty decent representation of the style. Nice floral aroma rising from a copper pour with a decent white head. Taste has a malty backbone with nice florals with just enough bitterness. Rampant is a very satisfying IPA and doesnít kill you with its Imperial title.
