3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2011 Bottle. Pours a golden clear orange hue. Aroma is light pine and citrus, but not necessarily in that order. Really ’clean’ tasting and well balanced. The citrusy bitterness is held down by the bready malts. A nice IPA that could be quite sessionable.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from the Monk. Pours a light copper with almost no head but instead a couple of white bubbles. Aroma is off putting to begin with. Rather mucky citrus with a slight hit of hops. Much better in the mouth. Soft carbonation leads to a nice mouth feel. Hop resin and citrus in the flavour. Nice beer if it werent for the aroma

DRAFT from Harry’s in Bayshore WI.....recommended by wait person....great hoppy nose and smooth / hoppy tasty. not overly astringent like some IPAs but with a decent hop / alcohol / malt taste....well done / another good beer from New Belgium

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Just had this at the Yard House on draft and I’m going with the gang on it: the Ranger offers just the right balance for an IPA. Resin-y but appealing aroma leads into a snappy hoppy taste with fine overtones of cirtus, specifically orange. Astringent but refreshing...so it delivers the taste you want a crisp, tidy IPA to deliver out on a muggy hot afternoon.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
One of the more extreme IPA’s I’ve tasted. The color is a light golden brown, the crispness invigorates the palate, and the finish is extremely bitter.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can’t believe I’ve never rated this beer before... Pretty much a staple among IPAs, kinda how Sierra Nevada is to pale ales... Color is golden orange, aroma of citrus hops, notes of grapefruit... Flavor is bone dry, prototypical West Coast IPA, not much sweetness at all.... Nicely bitter finish... Solid IPA

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. pours golden yellow with two fingers of white foamy head. Smells of pine, grapefruit, lemon, and grass. Taste grapefruit, pine, earthiness, and some malt. Mouthfeel is medium and oily and the finish is bitter and medium in length.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Copper in color with a creamy white head. Hops on the nose with a sweet caramel malt balance. Not overwhelmed with bitterness but it is certainly evident. Nice everyday IPA.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear golden body with decent head and lacing. Pleasant hop aroma and taste is just as good, well balanced with good bitterness.
