22 ounce bottle, best before July 9, 2010. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear dark gold/orange color with about an inch frothy off-white head. Head retention is very good, and thereís lots of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is pine and citrusy (grapefruit) hops. The taste is similar to the aroma, itís mostly pine and citrus hops with the addition of some bready malt. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, itís a bit slick and is well carbonated. Drinkability is good, I thought it was enjoyable to drink. I think this is a decent overall IPA, definitely worth a try.

A very average IPA. Faint citrus odor. Nice color. Balance is lacking all hops with little to no malt presence. Finishes dry with a disagreable aftertaste.

22 oz. bottle, $3.30 @ Binnyís. Whoot! You ever a bag of sealed flower hops at the homebrew store, then open it up just before adding it to a homebrew? Thatís the smell I get when I pop this cap. Pine and nice citrus all in there. Pours a clear amber in my IPA tulip, under a big rocky IPA head. Bought in April, and itís full of fresh hoppy goodness. Smell stays with me as I taste some lip twitching bitterness. But itís not overwhelming. Instead, the hops manage to make room for some more basic beer malts: not thick and sticky, just basic malt goodness. Not to say it goes down easily, itís fighting me all the way.

i heard that this is great on tap but in the bottle it is very lacking and watery. tastes like an ipa that has been mixed with water.

Strong hop and malt taste up front, but then gets thin. Watery, lightly sweet finish is dissapointing. Pine flavored hops up front with a similar aroma. Does not have the body of a better beer, but not bad. Very drinkable.

Moderate floral hop aroma with a light amount of pine. Clear light orange color with a large white head. Short lasting bitter beginning with a milder finish.

Decent aroma, mild grapefruit and a little pine. It pored a grainy yellow with a decent white head. taste, what taste? The beer starts off piney and a little floral, and then turns metallic. Sorry, but new belgium should stick to belgian beers...

I am happy that New Belgium made finally a hop centered beer. It is OK, not complex with emphasis on astringent hops with not much floral character. Bottles on Bald Head Island. Golden color and a little head and lacing

Pours with a medium head and a copper body. Pleasing aromas of grapefruit and pine are complemented by lifted hops on the nose. Dominant hop presence on the palate gives way to more subtly integrated grapefruit, and medium caramel malt and bread elements. Finishes long and hopped up, with a bit of a metallic note.

12 oz. bottle purchased at BevMo Long Beach. Nice hoppy aroma, not so overpowering that the malt is masked. Pours a golden yellow with a white head. Taste-wise the hops are very present but they strike a very nice balance with the malt. Thereís a bit of an earthy finish with the hops that I particularly enjoyed. Not as hop-heavy as many West Coast offerings, but, as in this case, thats not always a bad thing. Nice carbonation and body. Overall a very enjoyable session IPA. I was worried this beer would be under-hopped, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a very well-balanced IPA, and definitely recommend this one.
