Bottle (from backlog). Pours medium gold with a medium head. Big floral, hops, citrus and pine aromas. Wish the taste was as big. Just average.

Appearance is a crystal clear golden color, with thick white foam cap. Aroma is great with the esters and clove of the Belgian yeast combining with the earthy pine and citrus of the hops. Taste is sweet malt almost instantly backed up with a strong hop bite. Taste isn’t as complex as I had hoped after smelling the great aroma. The hop bitterness tends to overpower the malt and isn’t as well balanced as other IPAs. Bitterness lingers on the palate long after swallowing. Still very drinkable and love the aroma, but was expecting more on the tongue.

Bottle, pour have me a bunch of head. Big sticky bubbles. Color looks like the color of a light peach out apricot. Very clear. Smells like citrusy cascade hops. I?m drinking this beer 20 after its drunk date and its still is pretty fresh (amazed). Definitely a well balanced ipa not too bitter, light and refreshing. I want to try a fresh one for comparison.

A - Pours a copper apricot color with a moundy head that forms a big Island as well as nice collar. S - Evergreen needles, citrus-orange peel, lime and some kiwi. Hints of clean pale malt cut through the hops. T - Grapefruit and spruce are evenly tied right out of the gate. That pretty much dominates except for some lime. The clean malt adds to the collective crispness of the beer. Aftertaste is of orange peel citrus. Mouthfeel has nice peppery bitterness with moderate carbonation. This is a focused IPA. The malt takes a back seat to the evergreen herbal hops. Serving type: bottle 10-20-2010

Appearance: Filtered. Golden/amber in color. A nice frothy head that lasts from beginning to end, and the lacing is very nice. Smell: It’s been awhile since I’ve had an IPA. It’s nice to be back. Huge hops on the nose, and it’s not shy of letting you know the style. There’s a trace of malts in there as well, but it’s a lot of piney, resinous hops in the aroma. Taste/feel: Meh. Disappointed ... it doesn’t taste bad, but it just tastes pretty pedestrian and "safe" as far as an IPA is concerned. There’s nothing unique about it. There’s nothing that I haven’t tasted in other IPAs. Yes, it has that nice hop taste. It has a relatively good balance (though it’s definitely hop heavier than other IPAs I’ve had), and it’s not bad at all. Ranger’s an above average beer, but I can name a good number of IPAs I prefer to it. Two Hearted, Racer 5, and Torpedo are a few.

From a 22oz bomber. Pours a rich amber, topped with a healthy inch or so of white head. The aroma is exactly what I expected, grapefruit, pine resin, touch of cat’s piddle, blah, blah, blah. Tastewise, up front and smack you around hop bite, with the classic citrus and pine flavours and a slight caramel/toffee note in the background. Medium bodied. Yup it’s an American IPA, not my bag baby, not my bag.

Yeah, yeah, yeah—i know New Belgium is becoming cliché. But that doesn’t stop me from enjoying one of the boldest IPAs to ever grace my palate! Starting off light and refreshing, this beer finishes off strong, bold and hoppy. This is my go-to beer.

Yellow in color with a small white head. Aroma is of lemon, light grass, pine and pepper. Taste is of pine, grass, caramel and citrus.

Don’t have a lot of exposure to IPAs, but I do like this beer. Nice pour, though I typically prefer something a little darker. Dark golden color, good soapy head dissipates to a thin film that lingers all the way to the bottom of the glass, lots of lacing. Aroma is citrus and floral. Hops definitely dominates the flavor, but there is a hint of malt sweetness that works for me. I taste definite grapefruit, as I do with Red Chair, maybe it’s the Cascade hops? Overall, very good. Be careful if you’re driving, 6.5 ABV sneaks up on you quick.

A clean, crisp, light (IMHO) IPA that I enjoyed a lot. It’s a very clear, golden color with an average head and a lot of lace. The aroma is not strong. The flavor has a medium malt with a citrus and pine hop character that dominates from the beginning to the end of the sip, and there is a decent amount of carbonation, a full mouthfeel and strong aftertaste. The price is low for the quality, and I’ll buy this again.
