3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
This appeared at my local Safeway. I’ve had the Fat Tire lots of times, so I tried it. First response: this is a M.F. Very hoppy. I like it better than Fat Tire. My current favorites besides this are Torpedo and Lagunitas IPA, which also really hoppy. I must have a hops imbalance in my bloodstream and this is making up for it.

Draft at Taco Mac. Pours hazy orange with thin white head. Aroma of citrus hops. Taste is grassy hops and grapefruit. Smooth and easy drinking. One of my new favorite IPA’s. Very good.

22oz. Bottle (from trade with phaleslu): Faint aroma of hops, slight grain, and crystal malt. Poured gold/amber in color with a small to medium-sized, creamy, rocky, off-white head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, and crystal malt. Medium body. Tingly, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Lightly bitter, slightly sweet, crystal malt and hop finish is a bit dry.

Pours a copper golden color with bright white head. Aroma is reminiscent of a mango pine tree. Sweet fruity flavors of mango, pine, and the finish is a little short.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2010 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold. A promising aroma. Smells of hops , citrus, and pine. Taste is bitter -- a lot of hops with some pine flavor. A minimal citrus flavor. Overall, the taste is not very complex. Palate is smooth. A fine brew, but not the best ipa.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear, light copper pour with a decent frothy head. Nice earthy hoppy aroma. Strong citrus notes in the flavor, as well as a good kick of hops. A different beer for New Belgium. I like it!

0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Bottle - I like it. A nicely hopped IPA. Not too aggressive but - that signature hop pallete is there. It has that signature New Belgium flavor to it - if that makes sense. There’s a malty quality too - similar to what I taste in the Fat Tire. It’s a good solid IPA. I’d buy it again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a yellow/orange, a bit lighter than most IPA’s, also fairly transparent, with a good bit of dense white foam. Aroma of hops and citrus fruit, and strangely, just a bit of a burnt kind of smell, maybe roasty malts or something. Taste is hops, grassy/wheaty, not as complex as I’d like but not bad at all.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rich amber color with white frothy head that disappears a bit too quickly. Mild hoppy aroma. Well balanced hoppy profile that is flavorful without being too bitter. Very enjoyable IPA.
