[Tap] Pours a light amber color with a thin white head. Hoppy aroma of pine, some bread and grains. Hightly bitter/hoppy taste. Subtle malty backbone of caramel malts and some fruits. Lingering bitter finish. Average body and carbonation. Pretty good, but an ordinary IPA.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2010 Bottle. A - Quite clear and crisp looking copper color. Pretty large, rocky, foamy, sticky, soapy white head. Good retention leaving a sticky, foamy layer of lace. S - A lot of fruity/citrus hops with grapefruit, mango, orange, and a touch of tropical fruitiness. Some lemony and spicy aromas as well. Some pale malt in the background. A hint of resin/pine aroma, but citrus dominates the nose. T - Similar to the nose, but with a bit less citrus and a bit more herbal hop flavors. Citrus hops are still strong and pretty dominant. Some pale malt in the background and a buttery flavors. Fairly bitter tasting and it lingers. M - Medium body with just above average carbonation. Kind of crisp and zesty feel. D - Pretty drinkable IPA with a pretty bitter taste that lingers. Good body and a nice taste, but nothing outstanding. Notes: A good IPA, but nothing outstanding. Good amount of citrus with some pine and herbal flavors in the taste. Fairly bitter tasting IPA. Enjoyable, but nothing world beating.

Pours a mostly clear light amber with moderate head and good lacing. Pine, floral, citrus on the nose. Well balanced and lighter on the malt, which is fine with me in an IPA. Good dry finish. Good offering from New Belgium.

Clear yellow with a creamy lasting head. Citrus and pine and some spring flowers, grass, I donít know. Flavor is quite balanced with a sweetness up front and a very nice hop bitterness to follow. Very nice after taste.

Poured from bottle. Strong floral and resinous nose. Pours a dark gold with a huge head that just sits there and does not go away. A lot of citrus on the palate; strong lime and grapefruit leads into a touch of malt then closes with an astringent bitterness. Good feel on the tongue. Nice.

(12oz bottle). Pours clear straw yellow with 1" thick white head. Aroma of grass, pine, resin, floral, also some basement/funk. Quite pungent. Taste is bitter, but there is a subtle, underlying sweetness. Light to medium bodied with oily and somewhat thin body. Carbonation is fizzy on the tongue. Finish is bitter, but pleasingly so. I think New Belgium nailed this one. They definitely got the hop aroma and flavor, but there is a nice grapefruit aspect that balances this beer out quite well at the end and really cuts through the bitterness. I appreciate that finesse because it seems that too many brewers try to blow up your taste buds with IBU. Nice job!
