3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
THOUGHTS: Wow. That was a lot of hops. Not enough balance. It was all hops and not much malt. Not one of my favorites. Extremely hoppy. A little too bitter;
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a sparkling, clear, light, orangey copper with an average to large, off-white head that mostly diminished but kept a thin sheet throughout and left good lacing. The aroma had light caramel malt; very slight cookie; moderate to heavy, pine, resin, grapefruit and orange hops; apricot and some slight notes of rubber. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was sweet and rather bitter with an average duration. There was light caramel, then tons of pine, resin and citrus hops and then a little more caramel. The light to medium body was slightly syrupy and then a little dry with fizzy carbonation and a slightly metallic finish.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a light golden orange with a nice long lasting head. Nice lacing. Aroma of piney hops, florals and citrus. Tastes of hops and more hops. Some bitterness and some citrus. Not much malt balance. Nice IPA.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 ounce six pack from Albertson’s Scottsdale, AZ. Very pale golden with lasting fluffy white head. Great citrusy floral aroma. Mild peach apricot fruitiness with nice dry floral citrusy bitter finish. Highly attenuated into a nice medium-light extremely refreshing effervescent body. Really excellent.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The beer pours light amber with a tall rocky head, it has a really strong piney hop aroma. The flavor is crisp with good hop/malt balance, slight sweetness and low bitterness. The palate is a solid body with very little hop bite. Overall a good flavor and balance, nice hop character without being overwhelming.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: orange with a nice off-white head which fades with little blotches splattered about the sides of my glass. Puddles of foam laze about the top of her orangey depths. Swirls with more foam and somehow doesn’t faze the already settle clumps one little bit.
Nose: cup your hands around freshly picked hop cones, stick your nose deep inside, and inhale: that is the first impression I get from this beer. Next come pineapples sweetness with tropics carried by a warm summer breeze right behind her. Sticky sweet hop resins. Clean, light, and tropical; mango and papaya, too.
Palate: the tropics have landed in my glass. Soft, bready, sweet up front with hops in the back and finish: whole cones and leaves. Pineapple, mango, tangerine, and papaya surrender their juicy insides while their skin dries my palate with supple bitterness before bringing me back for more. A rather straightforward palate. As she warms, the back swallow and finish dedicate themselves wholly to the goodness of hops. Sweet breads underneath. A wisp of spice here and there but nothing truly tangible.
Final Thoughts: a wonderfully tropical inspired IPA from New Belgium I was more than happy to taste. A Belgian inspired IPA; I can only guess that her dominant flavors came from a Belgian yeast strain since she carried with aplomb that atypical yeasty doughy bready fruity tropical nature one can find in many of the golden hued Belgian brews out there. Suffice to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A prime example of what I think an IPA should be. A great appearance with a thick head. Hits with a good punch on the frontend then comes on with a pine/citrus middle. On the back it finishes with a nice amount of bitterness that doesn’t overpower like an IPA can. A very well balanced beer that hasn’t disappointed me yet. Highly recommended.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Great aroma and presence in the glass. The color is intriguing - pale but almost a peach tint, in fact well balanced to the beer itself. Passive maltiness that is completely outshone by the bitter; I wish the body were just a bit heavier. Foam retention is vg. Overall enjoyable but would be better if just a bit sturdier.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber pours orange/amer/bronze with a creamy white head - with thick lacing. aromas are thick - good bud, sharp pine, subtle floral, and strong acidic citrus. taste is solid - orange upside down cake, grapefruit and lymon smoothie (topped with pine needles), with a well masked 6.5%. finish is lengthy and pleasingly bitter, with a subtle sweetness hidden underneath. Overall, an extremely pleasing beer with resin-like residuals. This is killer for a saturday afternoon session beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. An amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of limes and grapefruits as well as hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, citrus fruits, straw, and hops, leading to a lightly bitter finish.
