What a nice suprise! To be honest, I was expecting a malty brew made for the mass beer drinker, but this beer is definitely not that. A very nice hop aroma and taste with almost perfect balance. Way to go New Belgium Brewing!

Magnificent! Beautiful deep Maroon red color a bit murky and i dont exactly remember the head. Full mouthfeel like whipped pudding tastes red and bursting with piney hop, citrus, some chocolate and yeast. On tap at the Capital Ale House Harrisonburg VA. Bought some bottles back behind the place down the hall.

Very Dark amber color. Almost brown. White head. Citrus & hay notes. Caramel malt start with with a citrus, very fresh hop flavor. Not much bitterness in finish. Very nice brew.

So happy to have taken the leap back to a New Belgium after a few meh experiences. Nice head, beautiful amber color and wow, gotta stick your nose in this one! Niiiice hop aroma. Wonderful, but not overpowering, malt sweetness first, balanced by a nice hoppy blend, "balanced" being the most important descriptor for me. Easy drinking with just the right body. Tired of "hop soup". This one is a winner in my book.

I love this beer and it caught me totally by surprise. Great deep amber color and thick head. I love the earthy hop flavors with the roasty undertones of the malt. Love it. ---Rated via iPhone

The burnt umber colored body was clear, and topped by a two finger thick, foamy, beige head. I could smell the bright hops even before bringing the glass up to the nose. Once I did, the nose was dominated by piney, earthy, spicy, and musty hops. As anticipated, the taste was quite bitter and earthy, with a flash of brown sugar mid palette, and a carbonated, drying, finish. The body felt medium thick, oily, and soft. This is better than the typical New Belgium seasonal, and approaches the quality of the Lips of Faith series.

Delicious! Red, hops, wonderful. Some caramel, crystal malts, and plenty of hops. As balanced a beer as I have ever had.

Provided description hits all the points: Caramel on the nose with piney hops balancing out a leathery subtlety. Very enjoyable. Literally said "wow!" when I poured it. Excellent!
