2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Best before 9/8/13. Poured 7/11/13. Pours clear gold-yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is not pleasant, possible skunked; yeast, fruit, bread, citrus, spice. Taste is floral, fruit, perfume-like, Belgian yeast, bread; finish is yeasty. Medium-high carbonation. Some lacing. Wet, slick mouth feel. Thereís a lot to this that reminds me of a pale lager. For that reason, not for me. Not fun.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle poured a clear light yellow hue w/ a large fizzy mostly diminishing soapy white head. Light aromas of citrus and straw. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are lemon, white grapefruit, straw, and white wine. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonation, and a hint of dryness in the finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Crab Shack on the James in Newport News. Took some time to find it because the waitress was clueless. Quickly tossed the orange it was served with. A tasty summer refresher. Citrus sweetness with just enough bitterness. Best part of the meal.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slightly hazy yellow brew with on odd aroma. Has soursop and monkfruit in it, whatever they are. So aroma could be one of those. Taste is bitter at first with a almost juniper twang to it. Does have a sorta lemon or citrus taste that shows through sometimes. ODD! That is the best way I can describe it. So while this one very interesting it is also not something I would buy again and again. Might revisit it next year if it comes out next summer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Moon River, Savannah. It pours very pale yellow with a small white head. The nose is light, sweet, fruity, grape, grassy, straw and light spice. The taste is smooth, crisp, stone fruit, prickly pear, melon, citrus, grain, straw, hay, pepper and a touch of bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not a whole lot of depth, but itís easy going and pretty drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle and served in snifter: Pours a straw hue with an initial big fizzy head and left very good lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of apricots, dragonfruit, peach, biscuity malt, wheat, and a light Belgium aromatic and bubblegum yeast ester. The taste is lightly tart, fruity and a tad grainy. Short and unassuming but just right for a hot summer afternoon. Overall, I would drink this again.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: Pours a bright hazy yellow gold with a head that subsides to a dense white cap of white.
Aroma: Light perfumy yeast and citrus zest.
Taste: Pale biscuity malt, mild Europ hop spice, that good old NB house yeast found in most of their blonde colored beers. In between all is some pear like and stone fruit like pleasantness weaving in and out.
Mouthfeel: Lively carb. Full bodied. Drying bubbles.
Overall: Fresh, crisp, easy to drink, a little fruity and definitely refreshing. Itís hard for me to identify with all the exotic fruits New Belgium uses, so I do the best I can describing the fruit flavors I experience without any point of reference.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap. Golden pour with a white head. Pale lagery aroma. Flavor is decent, if unexciting, pale-malty pale lager flavor, but with more hops, generally in the grassy area. Gets better as I go on. Not too much excitement, but itís a quality version of the style... Except now Iím completely caught off guard that this is a Belgian Ale? Huh.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A steady pour into my teku glass produces a two finger thick, pale, off-white colored head. The beer is a gold color that shows just a hint of haze and a pale yellow-gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells amply of citrusy tropical fruit character, and it even smells a touch tart. It is hard to smell anything underneath the fruit character.
This has a touch of malt sweetness, some fullness to the body, and a soft citrus character that morphs into more of a tropical fruit like note towards the middle and finish. A touch of metallic beer like character, some tinny spiciness and a hint of turpene like phenolic tongue numbing character in the finish adds a bit of balancing bite to this beer. The fruit character, while the dominant note int he flavor, is not quite as prominent as it is in the nose. Touches of hay like grain, and a suggestion of saltine cracker like malt character is able to come through here.
Quite simplistic in its fruit focus, but still enjoyable enough and refreshing. I would say that New Belgium hit what they were going after, but I also am not all that impressed, which is ok as I am probably not the target audience. This does have an interesting fruit character to it.
