COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
New Belgium’s seasonal release, Saison, pays tribute to Belgian farmhouse ales brewed to celebrate the fall harvest. Pale bronze in color, our Saison is slightly spicy and delicately hopped. A sweet malty note glides along with herbal tones produced by an authentic Belgian yeast strain. The finish is surprisingly dry.
Originally, local brewers crafted Saison beers for seasonal workers in the farming community to enjoy at the end of their day. With typical hoppy character and an intriguing Belgian twist, Saison will appeal to hop lovers and wheat beer drinkers alike. Whether you’re pushing a plow or a pile of paper work, Saison will help you bask in the afterglow of a job well done.
Saison - Enjoy the season.
Pale bronze in color, this delicately hopped ale has a bright, yeasty, artisanal quality worthy of toasting those long autumn sunsets.

Pretty tasty Saison. If this was available year round I'd probably buy it like I buy their Triple and Abbey to satisfy by Belgian fix(at a cheap price). Hits all the right notes for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Slightly hazy deeper yellow pour with a white head. Slightly spicy, yeast, and a little dry on the tongue. Okay.

Bottle @ home from the New Belgium fall folly pack. Pours a pretty clear golden yellow appearance with a lasting white head. Some banana, white pepper, clove, hay, and barnyard in the nose. Very clean profile. Pretty floral, some straw / hay, and grass. A bit sweet, light yeast, mild banana. Pretty nice chugger. Better than most of the stuff NBB releases these days though I wouldn’t say it’s by any means a traditional saison.

Poured a pale yellow color with a medium sized white head that faded quickly. Aroma has lots of lemon and yeast with some skunky notes. Some egg/cheese notes as well. Taste has floral notes with more lemon and a touch of yeast. Good fruity flavors as well. Aftertaste is a bit sweet with more plumb and lemon.

Pours a lemon-yellow with a foamy white head. Has a lemon and yeast aroma. Flavor is bitter, with some lemon and a strong spice that adds too much bite. Just not my thing.

~Strong yeasty aroma of perfumey spice, corriander, vanilla, bubblegum. Bready, lemon. ~Pours a clear light pale color with lasting white small wispy head. ~Spicy yeasty vanilla lemon peel flavor. ~Medium bodied, medium CO2, lingering yeasty spiciness. ~Enjoyable interesting saison. Yeast is an interesting one.

12 ounce bottle from a Folly Pack, from Harris Teeter Hollymead, opened 8/29/14. Pours a clear yellow color with a large foamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of bready malts, spice, yeast, honey, citrus zest. The taste is spicy, herbal hops, apples, bready malts, honey, yeast, spice. Medium bodied, moderate lingering spice. Solid beer.

Does not hit with funky yeast flavors and smells as hard as other saisons I’ve had. Actually the wheat/yeast character is pretty mild, so you could, for example, drink all 4 from your sampler pack in one sitting.

Bottle from the singles bin - hazy gold with a moderate, soapy lace - nose of herbal and peppery hops, tart lemon, lightly peppery phenolics, some white sugar sweetness, very mild muskiness - flavor is medium sweet, but with a balancing tartness to it - the hop bitterness and phenols are a little rough and abrasive late, but there are some pleasant herbal notes and lightly rustic yeast character - there are some mild banana esters, which I am not a fan of in this style, but there are very subdued - so, some good, some not as good, but much better than I thought it was going to be.

12 oz bottle pours light, clear gold with a white head. Aroma is farmhouse yeast and bananas. Taste is lemon, grass, spicy hops and bit earthy and herbal. Nice hop quality, needs something more though. OK saison.
