COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
New Belgium's seasonal release, Saison, pays tribute to Belgian farmhouse ales brewed to celebrate the fall harvest. Pale bronze in color, our Saison is slightly spicy and delicately hopped. A sweet malty note glides along with herbal tones produced by an authentic Belgian yeast strain. The finish is surprisingly dry.
Originally, local brewers crafted Saison beers for seasonal workers in the farming community to enjoy at the end of their day. With typical hoppy character and an intriguing Belgian twist, Saison will appeal to hop lovers and wheat beer drinkers alike. Whether you're pushing a plow or a pile of paper work, Saison will help you bask in the afterglow of a job well done.
Saison - Enjoy the season.
Pale bronze in color, this delicately hopped ale has a bright, yeasty, artisanal quality worthy of toasting those long autumn sunsets.

bottle-Pours light yellow with a fizzy white head. Why is this thing filtered? that is blasphemy! Other than the lack of apperance, this is a tasty session saison. nose is nice with lemon, light funk, estery, floral notes. flavors are grassy, lightly funky, with lots of lemon and sourness. body is somewhat lacking due to the filtered state of this beer. again, a decent session beer, but definately not the saison i was hoping from this company.

Straw golden with ample carbonation. . Band-aid aroma. Yeah, I know it’s supposed to be like that, but... Sweet and sour. bits of licorice, cherry, banana. Time and again I try beers like this, and every time I learn that yeast is not my favorite flavor in beer.

Bottle; Nose of yeast and spices (cloves mostly); gold with a small white head; flavor of a little caramel malt, with some banana and a little residual tartness.

Tight white foamy head of marginal size. It poured a bronze orange. The aroma was okay - citris, floral, tangy. Flavorwise, I can’t explain why, but it reminded me of Phad Thai. But it also tasted of citris, yeast, and left a soapy feeling in the mouth.

Foam atop a blonde body. Wonderful yeasty nose with a spiciness. Overall, closer to a trippel, not complex or at all saison-like, but a tasty belgian drinking experience.

Pours clear, deep golden with a white fizzy head. Initial spicy aroma features cloves and a zing of citrus. The most notable feature of the beer is a prominent leather and horseblanket yeast aroma, but I’m not terribly fond of the way the hop spicing supports it. The beer is light and clean on the palate, making it very quaffable. The malt aspects were also subdued, although eventually some caramel notes along with some candi sweetness became apparent. The beer finished crisp and clean. It’d make a good session beer if the ABV were lower, and it’s tasty in and of itself (it’s worth trying just for the yeast), but I’m not going to mention it with good examples of the style.

Pours a golden copper w/ full semi creamy froth. Aroma of malted rock candi. Medium nectar w/ mellow residual effers. Flavor are true belgian w/ balanced malt and hops. Bitter candy, slight banana, ginger spice, brandy, w/ bitter peach pit. finish is dry malt and bitter candy. Not bad. Better as it warms. Leaves a brandied alcohol feeling on the palate.

Lighter color than expected, excellent aroma and flavor. Overall a good spicy fall beer. High quality as expected from NB.
