Gold with creamy, foamy, white head, with some legs / Clean, round nose of grain, honey, and biscuit / Medium body, hint of sweetness but mostly dry, a touch watery, but otherwise good balance and bitter finish / Flavors of grain, honey, violet, and biscuit / Body issues, but this is a fine pale approaching a pilsner.

Nice session beer especially at the end of a day in the heat of the desert Southwest. Hopped enough to make it interesting.

Solid session beer. Hoppy smell to it. Hoppy after taste but not like an ipa. Calm hops nothing crazy. Dope session beer if your tired of the cheap stuff.

Aroma: grain, lemon,
Taste: very smooth clean up front, moderate hops on the finish
Palate: light, dry, strong c02 burn, bitter aftertaste
Overall: kind of bland initially but has a nice hoppy finish, good for a lager

12oz can pours a clear light copper with a large off-white head. Aroma of resinous hops, caramel, and sour dough bread. Taste similar to aroma light and drinkable and still lots of flavor!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DuffMan (5196) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 11, 2013
Can. So in honour of my first lawn mow of the season, I wanted a nice lawnmower beer to rest in my cupholder. The first one I reached for was a Brazilian lager, and it was a miserable drainpour fail. This is exquisite by comparison. Clean, pale cereal malts that have just a hint of crusty bread are accompanied by a kiss of guava fruit hops. Man, having this right after having a shitty macro swill really underscores how far the mass produced lagers have fallen.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 KajII (705) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - MAY 8, 2013
16oz Can. The pour was a clear pale golden yellow with a small (less than 1 finger) white creamy head that diminished rapidly, leaving behind a thin film and small collar with very good sticky lacing.
The aroma was mild of a light grain malt, floral and grassy hops and a doughy yeast with a note of citrus (lemon and grapefruit) and a light fruity ester (apple and pears).
The taste was lightly bitter and rather grainy with a mild fruitiness from the start, becoming lightly hoppy with a nice grapefruit presence and a bitter lemon peel taste towards the finish. The flavor hung around for a good while following the swallow, with a bold citrus peel bitterness left behind.
Mouthfeel was light in body with a thin dry texture and a lively carbonation.
Overall this brew was a lot better than I expected out of a Pale Lager. It possessed a very nice bold bitterness along with a slight fruity sweetness, which working together created a well balanced and easy to drink brew... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma of floral hops. Medium body. Flavor is of floral and citrus hops. This is one of the better premium lagers.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 JStax (1671) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAY 3, 2013
12 ounce can thanks to a buddy in Columbus. Pours a lighter copper with a large white head of foam. Aroma has a lighter hop profile of grass and light florality. Taste is floral and refreshing. Very light on the palate and almost like drinking water. This isn’t too bad.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Block (1039) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - MAY 1, 2013
Not bad, a little light. A pretty regular beer, decent for a nice drinking session.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ronaldtheriot (782) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - APR 30, 2013
New Belgium Shift has a thick, fluffy, off-white head and a clear, bubbly, old-gold appearance, with lots of heavy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is faint, but one can detect bit of piney hops and tap water. The taste is of pine, citrus fruit (think lemon), tap water, and a shade of sweet grain. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and New Belgium Shift finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, drinkable, and dull. This is just another over-priced, flaccid, exceptionally dull failure from New Belgium, a company that seems to have a penchant for producing these depressing offerings. For those looking to waste some money, this could be one to choose. RJT
