timfoolery (333), California, USA Jul 7, 2008 Bottle from BevMo. New Belgium is a good producer of beer, but this one wasn’t my favorite by a long shot. Pair that with the fact that this was is listed as a Belgian, when it’s tastes straight on lager.
phishpond417 (1360), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 20, 2008 I enjoyed a few NB brews this weekend that I otherwise would not have tried if it weren’t for some kind phriends. Still can’t get it in Wisc, so I had to travel out of the state to find some. Thanks guys!
Pours a clear amber colour with a small white head. Lightbodied, clean and refreshing throughout- has distinct caramel and floral integrated aromas. Taste is semi sweet with a light mouthfeel- licorice, almonds and bread on the palate. billk (289), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA Aug 12, 2008 Updated: Aug 15, 2008bottle 12 oz. I made the mistake of pouring one of these after a pils urquell. Krice it was bad. I thought I would adjust to it after a few mouthfulls but no luck. Aroma of light malt with some fruit like apples and green grapes.
Has a strange herbal/botanical taste with creamy, buffered, overcooked malts and min hops. Lacking a clean or crisp flavor. A definite thinness on the palate during the finish. Some of it went down the drain.
I’m sure it might rate a point or two higher if I drink one first and am dying of thirst. marcus (966), Sacramento, California, USA Aug 11, 2008 This blonde ale poured with a thin beige head and a citrus aroma. This is meduim-bodied beer with a thin malt flavor and a light hop finish. Refreshing but not particularly interesting. TikiE (334), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Aug 11, 2008 Bottled: Brought back to NC from CO! Pours an amber color with fine white lacing. Malty with hint of lime. Not the best belgian beer...very light. Collint (322), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Aug 11, 2008 Bottle, pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Aroma is wheat and yeast. Flavor is simple kinda boring, never again
