Commercial Description:
Editor's note: in 2006, Skinny Dip replaced Loft as the name of New Belgium's low-alcohol, low-calorie summer seasonal (only minor changes in recipe; i.e. still approximately 4% ABV and spiced with Kaffir lime leaf).

Skinny Dip Description: New Belgium’s Skinny Dip is a full-bodied, figure-friendly beer perfect for the lightly attired summer months. Cascade hops frolic with kaffir lime and ample malt to create a bright, citrusy nose that’s as crisp as chilling in a mountain pond. Skinny Dip - a most revealing beverage.

Loft Description: In a category all its own, Loft delivers an uplifting zest, a taut line of hoppiness, and, from integrated wheat and barley malt, a mouthful as big as the sky. Spiced with Kaffir lime leaves.

Bottle from BevMo. New Belgium is a good producer of beer, but this one wasn’t my favorite by a long shot. Pair that with the fact that this was is listed as a Belgian, when it’s tastes straight on lager.

I enjoyed a few NB brews this weekend that I otherwise would not have tried if it weren’t for some kind phriends. Still can’t get it in Wisc, so I had to travel out of the state to find some. Thanks guys! Pours a clear amber colour with a small white head. Lightbodied, clean and refreshing throughout- has distinct caramel and floral integrated aromas. Taste is semi sweet with a light mouthfeel- licorice, almonds and bread on the palate.

bottle 12 oz. I made the mistake of pouring one of these after a pils urquell. Krice it was bad. I thought I would adjust to it after a few mouthfulls but no luck. Aroma of light malt with some fruit like apples and green grapes. Has a strange herbal/botanical taste with creamy, buffered, overcooked malts and min hops. Lacking a clean or crisp flavor. A definite thinness on the palate during the finish. Some of it went down the drain. I’m sure it might rate a point or two higher if I drink one first and am dying of thirst.

This blonde ale poured with a thin beige head and a citrus aroma. This is meduim-bodied beer with a thin malt flavor and a light hop finish. Refreshing but not particularly interesting.

Bottled: Brought back to NC from CO! Pours an amber color with fine white lacing. Malty with hint of lime. Not the best belgian beer...very light.

Bottle, pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Aroma is wheat and yeast. Flavor is simple kinda boring, never again
