2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Poured a light yellow with an average sized frothy white head that was mostly lasting and had excellent lacing. The aroma was very mild of a grain malt and a moderate dose of floral hops with a hint of citrus (lemon), apricot and spices. It tasted very lightly sweet with notes of citrus and fruit at first then became a tad sour with a mild hoppy finish. Mouthfeel was light in body and watery yet a little dry in texture with a very soft carbonation. Overall basically a lager with a little more of a hoppy flavor, very little.

A pretty decent blonde, though less potent yeast than I prefer. Golden, crisp, and a bit bland.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Bonita Liquor: Poured a golden straw blonde with a fluffy topping of foam head. Not much aroma for me to smell other than some light notes of hops that have a hint of citrus peel. The flavor is bland with a faint background of grained malt that gives off a tiny bit of honey while a grassy usage of hops goes almost unnoticed. Boring recipe, but quite refreshing on a hot summer day on the 4th of July.

A just OK drinker. Not much reason to get this when you can have a fat tire.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Hazy orange-kissed golden colour with a one-finger thick dense white head. Very little lace. Aroma is fresh and clean, floral/fruity hops and light cereal. Nice juicy apricot fruit hop signature, light citrus, clean cereal malts. Finish is mildly bitter and tart. Refreshing and very sessionable. Sometimes these simple blonde ales just hit the spot.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Nice golden blonde color that is transparent with a finger of head that sticks around. Hints of lemon and citrus in scent. Earthy/floral taste with even hops and touch of citrus aftertaste. Slightly complex taste with smooth body that is on the lighter side and drinkable. Good for a summer day if you want something good and easy to drink.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear yellow orange color with a white head. Has a musty, fruit like aroma. Medium/light mouthfeel. Slightly hoppy with a sweet lemon like zest as well hiding in there. The ginger is evident as well. Its not bad and would probably be pretty good on a hot day.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Somersault is unique as both a seasonal and an ale. As a seasonal, it represents a departure from the lagers and wheat ales that are popularly associated with the summer months by craft brewers. As a blond ale, Somersault has a bit more of a hop kick than Iím used to seeing within the style. The body is light and very approachable, but the finish is fresh and a bit bitter. New Belgium has made better (and worse) beers than this one, but itís a bold effort that works.
