Inspired by our anniversary bike trips through Belgium. Spring Blonde is a bright golden ale with a sweet lemony start, pedaling to a pleasantly bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear golden color. Thin white head with good lacing. Slight hops and lots of belgian yeast in the nose. That along some caramel in the flavor. Refreshing.

12 oz. bottle best by 5/18/14 poured into tulip. Sparkling golden hue with a thick white foamy head with excellent retention and lacing. Aroma is grassy and dank Belgian yeast with some citrus zest. Flavor is light and crisp with slight citrus tartness up front with a light biscuity finish. Not amazing, but this would be a decent session beer.

New Belgium brewery has produced some GREAT BEERS! Spring Blonde is NOT one of them! I wish I could have my money back, I dumped 5 of the 6 bottles down the drain...it was not drinkable! I am no beer snob but even I can’t drink something this foul! Gross, gross, gross! I truly think puke would taste better! Do not buy this! You are better off with the simple Fat Tire! I am still a New Belgium fan, just not a fan of this particular beer, my taste buds are still trying to get rid of that AWFUL first sip!

On draft at Tap 25. It pours very clear, bright yellow with a white head. The aroma has light crackery malts and some bubblegum, banana sweetness on the nose. The flavor is doughy bread with touches of bubblegum and unripe banana. Floral and lightly soapy in the finish. Meh.

Aromas of floral and grassy hops, honeyed and bready malts, subtle notes of strawberry candy. Clear gold with a soft orange tint, fully lasting bubbly white head. Dry, some strawberry ice cream up front, grass, cracker. Light, refreshing.

Pours a clear solar yellow with a thick, pale yellow-buff head. Aroma is fruity and yeasty, the former mainly pear and apple with a citrus touch. Flavor adds some malt to the mix, but fruit and yeast notes still have their role in the play on the palate. Texture is smooth and pleasing, if lacking in fizz. Good way to welcome spring - and the final arrival of warm weather.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2014 Straw golden appearance, fruit, grain & that familiar unique Belgian aroma that’s prevalent in tripels that I still cant identify, almost metallic on the nose. High drinkability, drinks a lot like a pilsner with a little bit of a grainy & biscuity character and finishes bitter orange. Overall very pleased with this.
