Draught at St. Augustineís, Vancouver
Blond color, with compact head. Mild aroma: some Belgium here, light spices, light fruits, but also a bit of stale waters. Off-dry mouthfeel with high carbonation; pale malt flavor, with a hay accent and light late sugars; some spices, very light fruits; correct bitterness.
A pleasant and refreshing beer, with a rather true Belgian character.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2014 Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilburís Fort Collins. Pours a fairly clear yellow with a white head. The aroma has some spicy yeast, lemon, light pepper, and cracker notes and is clean. There is a bit of sweetness in the flavor but it dries out well in the finish. Cracker and dough dominate the flavor along with some grassy and light citrusy notes. Some bitterness on the finish. Nothing too flashy and sure, itís a little boring but itís clean and dry. Thatís just fine with me. Update: Three weeks later it tastes like veggies.

Clear gold. From bottle. Simple, starchy, lightly sweet, minimally bitter, little life to the nose, light lemon, grass / herb hop aroma with notes of notebook paper and potato starch. Later develops touches of creamed corn / DMS. Light maltiness, grainy, lightly toasty in a baked cracker way. Light body, medium acid, short finish. Not as bad as some of the other recent offerings from NBB, the malt is especially good for them, richer and more melanoidin-like than usual, thereís no overt flaws and just enough noble hop life in the nose to make it serviceable.
