3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Blond color, with compact head. Mild aroma: some Belgium here, light spices, light fruits, but also a bit of stale waters. Off-dry mouthfeel with high carbonation; pale malt flavor, with a hay accent and light late sugars; some spices, very light fruits; correct bitterness.
A pleasant and refreshing beer, with a rather true Belgian character.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2014 Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a fairly clear yellow with a white head. The aroma has some spicy yeast, lemon, light pepper, and cracker notes and is clean. There is a bit of sweetness in the flavor but it dries out well in the finish. Cracker and dough dominate the flavor along with some grassy and light citrusy notes. Some bitterness on the finish. Nothing too flashy and sure, it’s a little boring but it’s clean and dry. That’s just fine with me. Update: Three weeks later it tastes like veggies.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle. Best by: 22/june/14. Pours a clear golden color, with a bigger white head. Leaves decent reaches of lace. Medium body. Kind of sharp, light to moderate carbonation, dry finish. Kind of a lightly spicy flavor, some light belgian yeast funk, and yes, some lemon citric qualities. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet, kind of spicy overall. An OK belgian blonde. Does get smoother as it sits and warms. Some nice bready biscuity malt comes out, that has an enjoyable but brief finish.

"Clear golden but with a nice fluffy white head and good legs. Aroma is a little musty, with some yeasty spice and understated lemon. Decent prickly but crisp feel. Flavor pops a little more than the nose."
