Commercial Description:
Ale brewed with wormwood, goji berries, and schisandra. Deftly, this spring brewed venture lands on its feet. Springboard combines oats, ancient Chinese herbs and Mt. Hood hops to maintain a balanced equilibrium for such an exhilarating ale. This cloudy blonde has a spirited threshold, and a creamy body, followed by a refreshingly dry finish.

This beer is really refreshing. When something light is needed, I’ll reach for this 6.2%er. I didn’t really taste a lot of prnounced herbs, but there was a great balance to the beer.

Clear yellow color with a thin head. Aroma of musty and slightly old wheat. Tastes like incredibly watery wheat. No spices to speak of.

from Bevmo. Yellow with a fizzy white head. Sweet spicy aroma. Taste is smooth and refreshing but kinda bland. I was expecting better.

Sampled from a 12-oz bottle, shared at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a clear straw blonde brew with a thin white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and ring. Aroma of slight sweet pear, light bread malt, a touch of lime zest and some light herbal spice. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with a light apple and white bread flavor with a hint of herbal spice. Finish is semi-sweet, fruity, with a light yeast and spice aftertaste. An interesting light beer with a fruity chracter.

Bottle shared by mmtmatrix. Poured a slightly hazy yellow color with a thick white head. Aroma of light citrus, a hint of spice, and awkward wood character. Flavor begins with strong citrus notes that lead into a spicy yeast middle, ending with crisp, drying hop finish. Interesting, and not bad, but not something I see myself reaching for very often. I like that they are trying new things, at least.

Tap @ PP Carlsbad. It was described as barrel aged on the board. ?? Poured a light hazy yellow color with an off-white head. Light wheaty citrus aroma with some mild clove and other spices. Short dry wheaty malt with a hint of spice. Some light woody notes that could easily be yeasty herbal notes or from wood itself. Smooth and refreshing with a light body.
