ebarnes (213), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Dec 22, 2007 120z bottle. Pours foggy amber with a little sediment. (At least my bottle did) Smell was fairly bland with a little fruitiness but not much. Taste was smooth but nothing special. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA Oct 24, 2007 Nice clear golden amber color on the pour from the 12 ounce bottle, the head a good two fingers in size and a creamy bright white, retention is good, with the resultant lace a fine velum like sheet. Nose has hints of earthiness linked to the sweet malt, crisp and sparkling, fruit like tones, I’d say peaches, start has a sweet malt front with a pleasant tangy bite at the back, top is light to moderate in feel. Finish has a sparkling acidity, the hops pleasingly spicy; the dry long lasting aftertaste seals the deal, another fine beer from a superb brewery. RSRIZZO (1346), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 11, 2007 Had this beer on 3/7/2007. Aroma is a bright sour scent with light malt tones. Color is a pale hazy yellow with light carbonation and thin head. Taste is bold , crisp and odd. Starting with a light body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish comes in with a sour malt flavor then an odd almost hop like taste that seems to remind me of a Coors Light. This is one of the worst beers they have made. I do not know what they where going for or what type of beer they consider this to be, but I don’t like it. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Oct 7, 2007 Bottle. Hazy honey body with a very big foamy head. Nose-like a saison and a pale lager had a baby-lotion, spice, stale hops. Taste-stale, medium sweet champagne like cardboard, a little too sweet, black cardamom, lightly husky, light acid, puckering. There is an odd stale cardboardness that I can’t put my finger on, but I can only describe as spicy and stale, but drinkable. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Aug 27, 2007 Pours a hazy gold with a dense creamy white head that laces nicely. The nose is vegetal and herbal with faint fruity hops hidden in the background; not an appetizing aroma. Light and thin with a dry, almost astringent, finish. The flavor makes me think of the episode of Cheers where Woody is doing a commercial for "Veggie Boy"... "You can really taste the kale." Odd mixed vegetable flavors and a dry woodiness overpower some nice yeasty characteristics that try, but fail, to break out and make this beer something worth drinking. The finish is dry, bitter and thankfully short. I have drank a lot of New Belgium’s beer over the years, but this will be the first and last Springboard to touch my lips. Meh. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA Aug 17, 2007 A silty pale gold pour, white foam that dissipates. Aroma is slight in all areas, some sweet, fruit and perhaps a spice. Malty fruity flavors are light, body is light and somewhat watery. Spice characters are background, finish has some bitterness. I suppose this beer ends up as it was intended to be. If you’re in the mood for a light spiced ale it’s not too bad. IslandHaole (1035), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan Aug 16, 2007 A slighty cloudy pale yellow color with a small white head. Sure is a load of stuff in this, too bad the combination tastes like celery (I hate celery). Not to my liking. beerman79 (2), Ofallon, Missouri, USA does not count Aug 15, 2007 Strange...but im glad i tried it. First one was ok second was not as good(usually goes the other way for me).
