| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 5, 2007 Bottle. Poured a very light hazy pale yellow with a white head. Not what I was really expecting. Nose was a bit flowery, which was OK. Texture was light and dry. A tiny bit of spice in the background. Overall nothing special. waolsen (1222), Littleton, Colorado, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 31, 2007 Draught at Mugs. Breck. Bit underwhelmed really. Maybe not the freshest given the place consumed. Soapy white head and cloudy blonde appearance. Some citrus and fruit but overall a rather nondescript brew. Slightly bitter. Refreshing though. luvcasks (178), USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2007 crisp, hay like clear and shiny with a nice fluffy white (whipped egg white) head which leaves some very pretty lacing
At first whiff smells like a lager then some soft fruits (pear like) and low hop aroma come thru...
Taste: WOW!... throw the book out... starts out with a light clean blonde/lagerish flavor with some fruit notes from the yeast and some spicy hop bitterness with a slight creaminess and some bite (carbonic???) but all of these yield way to a long complex dry finish which reveals more layers as you wait between sips...
Overall: Very intriguing beer... when the beer is cold it comes across like a nice clean pilsner especially with the aroma and medium high carbonation. Absolutely top marks for creativity and stepping outside the "safe" range for beer... rheinheitsgebot be damned... beer is to be enjoyed first and classified later. Looks like a lovely quaffing beer... tastes great as well with enough interesting dimensions to keep the beer geeks gabbing and guessing between sips.
Just a quibble: I miss the Biere De Mars from 2006 I was hoping it would be the March beer for NBB this spring as well henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 30, 2007 The 12 ounce bottle poured a slightly cloudy golden yellow beverage with a modest sized smooth creamy white head that was mostly diminishing and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was lightly spicy and had a bit of a sour note in the background. The body was medium with a soft persuasive carbonation and a light, creamy texture. The flavor started out lightly sweet with the sour note in the aroma never revealing itself. The sweetness actually got more pronounced through the medium long finish topped off by a hint of bubblegum. ZiggyG (131), Gladstone, Oregon, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Mar 30, 2007 bottle. pours very light straw. Very cloudy. lots of billowy white head. High carbonation. Smell is of mild hops and citrus. Nice aroma, lots of complexity. Taste is not good. Very one dimensional with a sort of sour bitterness. Somehow the bitterness is not a hoppy bitterness, but is just........ not good. Moutfeel is decent, though it is more on the watery side than creamy like the bottle description suggests. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 29, 2007 6 pack purchased at Nugget on Covell in Davis, CA. Aroma is unique with some definite banana-like estery notes. Also, this is rather metallic with a fruity aroma that I can only imagine is due to the Goji Berries. Smells kind of like a Witbier. Has a pale yellowish body with some mild haziness and a rather large, frothy white head. Starts off a bit tart and rather sour, which is then followed by a creamy, milky, cereal-like maltiness. Followed by some fruity berry-like flavors. There is a weird dry, aspirin-like bitterness in the end, which does not really taste like hops. I imagine this is the wormwood. An interesting beer, although not overly enjoyable. I do give them props for creativity, though. heemer77 (4303), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 28, 2007 A hazy light yellow body is topped with a fluffy white head. The aroma is mild sweet cherries with a little hay and some herbs. The taste is interesting with some medicinal notes. The finish is woody and dry, like sucking on a burnt match. The body is very light on the tongue. This is not a pleasant beer. It needs something to balance the herbs.
