Commercial Description:
Ale brewed with wormwood, goji berries, and schisandra. Deftly, this spring brewed venture lands on its feet. Springboard combines oats, ancient Chinese herbs and Mt. Hood hops to maintain a balanced equilibrium for such an exhilarating ale. This cloudy blonde has a spirited threshold, and a creamy body, followed by a refreshingly dry finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a yellowy/golden/straw color with a pale white head. Very effervescent. The aroma was mostly malty and grainy. Very light nose. Flavor was very floral with a subtle hop presence. Very light flavor with bold spots here and there. The mouthfeel was nice, it wasn’t too heavy and it finished a little dry. All in all, a nice light beer that was fairly easy to drink. Very nice for the warm months.

Wife bought a sixer. New beer to me. Straw color. Lots of carbonation. White head. First drink is citrus. Lemon. Not sure this beer knows what it wants to be. Not very distinct. Cross b/t a miller light and a Blue Moon. Tastes like the two were mixed. Perhaps they are targeting the novice beer drinker w/ this concoction, but maybe not, after all, it has wormwood in it! Should I expect to start tripping soon? My knowledge about wormwood is limited to it being a good "moe." album. Not to be too harsh on the beer. It is easy to drink. The hops are nice, subtle. The finish is clean. Just seems to lack a soul. Has the dough signature of New Belgium. Spicy. Floral elements to the bouquet. I like it. Just not mind blowing.

Bottle pours a pale yellow with a decent white head and some decent lace. The aroma is of some mild hops and malt. The flavor is sweet, fruity, and somewhat complex. There is a bitterness that comes not from the hops, perhaps the wormwood? Rather a little bit of everything here, but not enough pull in any specific direction to establish much. I don’t find it offensive in any stretch of the imagination, just not real appealing or impressive.

I’m not sure what New Belgium was after here, but it wasn’t a second purchase by me. Looks fine, a sparkling pale gold with a smallish white head. It smells of freshly rinsed iceberg lettuce, cane sugar, pale malt, and some sort of berry or another. It had a kind of sour vegetal flavor with a light herbal bitterness. The vegetables and fruit were all fresh, but that’s really not what I’m looking for in any beer.

From bottle, poured a hazy blonde. White head with excellent lacing. A suttle earthy aroma with a mild flavor. Finishes dry with a slight bittering. Refreshing and drinkable in warm spring weather but nothing complex going on here.

has a pleasant sour aroma, a little bit like berry juice maybe. the smell of alcohol is apparent but very subdued, it doesn’t smell like a cheap beer. appearance is a very pale, almost white cloudiness, but it is still translucent, has a fairly thick head when poured. taste is a little astringent and very mellow, this seems like something that would go well with a hot summer day. the flavor of the goji is pretty pronounced, so the flavor is pretty rustic, woody and earthy. there is essentially zero aftertaste, but the bitterness that there is won’t ruin your palate. On tap. Pours a cloudy pale amber with a thin head. Interesting taste needs a little extra something not sure what that something is though. Good for 1 pint at sitting.
