3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 notalush (4174) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 23, 2010Tap at Falling Rock - murky orange pour - very odd presentation for New Belgium, but welcome - almost like a fruit lambic - moderate lactic acid and light acetic bit through the middle - brett is mildly developed - the fruit is hard to identify, and does not present as distinctly lychee - more like a peach flavor - oak is present but surprisingly subdued for the amount of time in the barrel - a less approachable sour than a lot of the other ones they make - probably good for la folie fans - enjoyable.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 nuplastikk (3289) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 21, 2013
Draft at Alchemy. Unfiltered golden-orange. Thin, quick fading head. Big apricotish, what one would assume is lychee, flavor. Tart and biting, with a light mineral taste. Acidic citrus aftertaste. In the American Sour vain, not so overly test tube, clean malt backbone. with a nice unique tropical fruit tone. Triggers my memories of other NG Lips beers I really like, but this one just isn’t quite there. The oak is there, but hidden deep.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Damico (1920) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 9, 2013
Pours cloudy golden with a big white head. Aroma brings fruity sour yeast and tart fruit so pleasant in the nose. Flavor starts dry but juicy with not so sweet fruity notes entering on a perfectly carbonated body.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 brystmar (458) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Definitely improved since its release last year. Tastes more true to the fruit now. Juicy; yeasty with relatively active carbonation. Cinnamon is MIA. Mildly tart, though it builds as the beer warms.
Delicious and refreshing. Very approachable by non-beer folks: my sister would love this.

Bottle. Pours a hazy coppery-orange color with effectively no head. Nose is quite tart with some fruit notes, especially lychee. Taste is very sour and has a bit of a bite on it, yet is rather smooth for its tartness.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jandd1983 (1578) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - FEB 24, 2013
It poured a hazy golden color with a thin white head. The aroma was fruity, sweet, tart and some light funky barnyard. It had a medium body. The taste was a bit more muted than I was hoping from the aroma, all the same characteristics were there. It had the tart fruit, sweet, and a bit of sour funk. Very nice.

Bottle. Opaque golden beer with a thin slightly off-white head. Aroma is acidic, fruity. Taste is mild-medium sweet, lightly sour, the lychee really comes in but the cinnamon is hard to detect. Finish is light, sweet, the lychee flavor lingers. Light body, lively carbonation. Refreshing.
