3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Black Bottle Brewery. Golden orange and clear with an off-white head. The aroma is cereal, rye, hops, sweet malts, spices and sugar. Similar flavor. Light to medium body with a smooth feel. Tasty and refreshing, nice touch with the rye.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Belmont Station. Pours light gold with white foam. Smells sweet of honey, a little lemon and oats. Tastes sweet with good mouthfeel, hints of honey, oats and a hint of peppercorns. Ends slightly tanniny, but doesn’t really taste of rye.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught. Cloudy colour, white head. Spice in the aroma, pepper in the finish. Flavour is rather like a roggenbier. Try it if you see it. Tastes lower in alcohol than it is.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft and bottle, 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a medium golden color, light amount of head. Aroma is lovely, estery, yeasty, floral, tart, Body bigger than one might expect. Rye comes through in finish, providing some bitterness. Finish long-lasting, with a tinge of sweetness. Really nice, for summer drinking, and while not exactly sessionable, there is a lot more going on here than a lot of lighter beers.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dirty/hazy orange with a 3 finger foamy near-white head. Aroma is earthy and fruity - but not strongly (foam in the way). Med plus body. Flavor is peppery, earthy, some rye, and arguably citrus. Expected more citrus, but it is what it is. For me it’s rather smooth pepper/fruit with perhaps some non-pepper spice. Mellow ale. Drinks nicely.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I’m liking this not so typical saison. The aroma is very good: wet hay, yeast, dough, flowers, with sort of a grainy undertone lurking in there. Taste is somewhat less than the aroma would lead you to expect, but it’s really nice with elements of: yeast, dough, slight clove, faint fruitiness. The finish is where you’ll find the rye; it’s hidden on the end as you get this grainy bitter bite, in some ways it’s as interesting as it is unsettling. ...the ants are attacking...where’s the garden hose.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle, poured in to a tulip. Straw gold with a slight haze. About 1 finger of head, slightly off white. Aromas of lemon, pepper, an herbal spiciness. Flavors like lemon, rye, pepper, slightly tart, some citrusy hops. Light body, fairly dry, finishes bitter. Overall I’d say this is drinkable, but I’m not sure I prefer the rye or the amount of hops.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap @ New Belgium. Pours a bit hazy golden appearance with a white head. Fairly spicy rye, bready, lemon pepper, citrusy aroma. Somewhat juicy, white pepper, grainy bready malty, citrusy, easy drinking flavor. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The wife picked this up for me last night... She says about $5... Poured into my slim tulip, a decent 1/2" white head rises and dies back pretty quickly.. only spotty lacing atop a "very slightly" hazed light golden brew.
Nose begins with clean phenols and some background pale maltiness... a bit of something that I associate with Bazooka Joe (pink bubblegum)... lesser peppercorn and lite clove essence.. Not sure what "rye" smells like, but so far, this is a winner.
The flavor is pretty pleasing IMO... again a pretty big yeast profile with a maltiness that helps deliver the phenols and now the hops... the hoppiness is a bit citric with "maybe" some melon/tropical elements, but the yeasty notes are the big players and I appreciate that.
The rye comes out the most on the palate... sorta thicker while still a bit slippery.. could use a tiny bit more carbonation I think.
Definitely not a standard Saison, but still well done.
Despite my concerns about the body and carbonation... I will DEFINITELY buy this again.
