Commercial Description:
This Kriek ale began in the wooden vessels at Brouwerij Boon undergoing the natural alchemy that can only occur in the Lambic region of Belgium. There, fresh cherries were added. Then it embarked on a refrigerated, trans-Atlantic journey to New Belgium Brewing in Colorado, USA. Upon arrival, the intense cherry, cedary-lambic character of the Boon contribution was woven with an expansive, subtly floral fermented composition from New Belgium. The result? One epic blend.

Another treat provided by EDA @ JoeMcPhee’s tasting. Color is rose brown. Aroma is all cherry cough drops, dead on. The taste was similar with some dirt water flavor. It was interesting but I would not really use the word "good" to describe it but again I am damn glad I got to try it.

Bottle shared by a generous local. Poured a pale, clear pink color with a thin off-white head that diminished to a ring. Aroma of soft, overripe cherry, sweet light malts, and some oak. Smooth, soft entry with a moderate red cherry flavor with some light yeastiness. Finishes sweet with some soft fruit. Smooth, light carbonation.

Thanks to eyedrinkale for bringing this one out. Deep ruddy colour. Thin white head. Aroma is quite rich and sweet. Bright cherries, some cherry pits/almondy character. Palate is quite thin, but it’s pleasant enough. Soft tartness with a light muskiness. Decent brew.

Bottle at Joe’s. 2004. Smells much of cherry cough syrup, with muddy chocolate in the middle. A small touch of tartness in the flavor is this beers only saving grace, as it is soon followed up with flavors of teriyaki chicken and chinese beef. Heh.

Bottle at JoeMcphee’s. Pours an orange amber body with an off white head. Aroma is cherries, wood, and something floral. Flavor is sweet cherries and pretty good but not sour or medicinal.

its a pale muddied pink with a clarity marred only by a few chunks of yeasty protein. aroma of sour cherries and pool water. well balanced and a flavor like European sour cherries jarred in juice.
