Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Local supermarket. Orval chalice. Set on fridge to warm slightly. Pours a sparkling gold with rocky off-white head. Lively scent of fresh barnyard and banana peel. Taste of spicy tropical fruit with a long, smooth malt finish. A little prickly on the tongue. Overall a fine example of Belgian character, smooth, yet slightly challenging. It’s funny buying a six-pack of tripel for the same price as one Westmalle. Good value indeed.

12oz bottle courtesy of screach. Pours a generally clear dark golden color with a one finger white head that settles slowly. Aroma is sweet and somewhat floral with notes of yeast, bread, barnyard, ripe fruit, some caramel and honey notes. Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of honey, caramel, barnyard, ripe floral fruit with slightly sour malt notes toward finish. Generally medium body with a sweet and malty finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear golden yellow color with a large frothy white head that produces amazing lacing and has superb retention. This beer is a treat on the eyes. Aroma is a very slight malt yeast combo with a nice sweet back to it all. Flavor is slightly spicy with a nice fruity nod and that Belgian yeast is at the forefront giving the beer a nice slight banana flavor. Just the right amount of sweetness too. Very well done! This beer is wonderful. By far the best year round offering from New Belgium. I can drink this bad boy all day and night.

TAP, BOTTLE: Pours a pale gold. Aroma is slight malt, yeast, and musty. Taste is a little bit earthy and malty, but not as much spice as I would expect. Pretty good beer, but just okay for a tripel.

Transparent gold, small white head that goes to a ring... pretty swill-like appearance. Nose has bubblegum, wet grass, some yeast. Flavor has some great yeast and malt coupling, a little pepper and finishing with some banana. Very nice balance. Very nice beer.
