Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Noticeable but not overpowering alcohol at smell. Head goes away very quickly. Very nice taste. Citrusy and spicy. The taste is almost tangy which I think is a good thing.

Rating #200. Pours a clear, pale gold color with a fluffy white head. Sweet, yeasty aroma, light fruits, a bit floral, not as impressive as the abbey. Sweet, almost sticky body reveals a yeasty brew, full of apples and bright fruit flavor. Not my favorite style, give me a dubbel any day, but not bad...

12 oz bottle from lb4lb, thanks Deniz. Pours a very good looking clear copper/bronze with a large fluffy bright white head that leaves some nice lace on the side of Unibroue tulip. Dry aroma with notes of bread, grains, yeast and some citrus rind. Medium body with light to average carbonation and a watery finish. Flavor is dry with lots of bread and yeast. This one is just a little to dry in the aroma and flavor for me. Suprisingly I found the palate to be not overly dry, wierd.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with hellbilly. Pours a hazy gold with a thin white head that disappeared after two or three sips and left very spotty lace. Pleasant aroma of Belgian yeast, lemon and light spice. The flavor was quite good with Belgian yeast, lemon, candi sugar, and some spice. Lightly bitter. The alcohol was well hidden with no trace detected. Very enjoyable.

Poured a rich gold color with a thin wispy head. Taste is immaculate, like driving a brand new BMW. So incredible. Smells of Saaz hops and flowers. A must have beer.

Bright yellow gold color, with a white head, yeasty, cheesy, nose with a kind of an odd dirty old sox smell, with a citrus fruity accent, and a faint floral hop aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, sweet honeyed pale malt character, with a grainy earthy accent, some fruity notes of ripe apple and candied orange peel within a mellow warmth mouthfeel, some cady sugar too, with a hint of flowery hop grassiness, leading towards a fruity, malty, warming finish.

Very nice beer that can be a bit high on the higher alcohols when very young. This beer actually peaks between 6-9 months of aging and is an incredibly smooth beer at that age (have aged multiple cases of the stuff over the last 5 years). After it reaches about 9 months old you have about 3 months before it starts going downhill.
