Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Banana nose, sweet banana cream front and a somewhat dry finish. Too sweet for me. Kinda yuk really. All right that’s enough, give me back my stout, this $U(K$.

Bottle thanks to lb4lb. Pours a clear orangeish copper. Big, fluffy white head. Aroma of candi sugar, fruit and yeast. Flavor is sweet and dry. Body is watery thin. Not bad, but not great.

Bottle, BB 5/23/08. Poured a clear, brilliant bright golden with rising carbonation and a light cap of white head. The aroma picked up deeply-toasted pale malts, light citrus fruit, floral notes, and spices.. dark, but sweet overall with the yeast not leading the way as I’d prefer.. warmth brought around a lightly sour element. The flavor had a tangy, lightly-sour light fruity influence throughout.. pale and light fruity sweetness at the core.. some peppery spices, but more floral notes from the yeast.. peppery notes, fruity sours, and warm pale malt sweetness at the finish. A little heavier-bodied with decent balance on the palate. I didn’t find any great components here, but what was in there came together nicely.

Bottle. Pours an orange golden color with a large frothy white head. The aroma is banana, clove, and light citrus. Very good lacing on the glass. The taste is a sour fruit with a bitter finish. A good Abbey Tripel from New Belgium.

The bottle poured with care, clear rich and golden with bright white effervescence. The aroma is sweet Belgian yeast delicately spiced and tamed, like honeysuckle. The flavor is balanced with bitterness, not quite full body and the florals impacting the overall olfactory. A delicious taste of a Belgian.
