Commercial Description:
Our Trippel Belgian Style Ale (pronounced triple) opens with a bold blast of hops that slowly gives way to the fruity esters implied by our Belgian yeast strain. The Three Graces hand-painted on the label are Zeus’s daughters Aglaia (splendor), Euphrosyne (mirth) and Thalia (good cheer). In the Belgian tradition of brewing singles, doubles and triples, Trippel is the strongest with the longest fermentation. Remarkably smooth and complex, our bottle-conditioned Trippel is spiced with a trace of coriander.

Pours a translucent yellow into a tulip glass with a small white head. Smells of spices, bananna, citrus and malts. Tastes like bananna, citrus, spices and has a little yeastiness to it. Pretty decent offering from new belgium. Not great, but pretty good.

Golden, clear, with thin white head. Sweet malt, floral, and mild spice aromas. Full bodied; citrus, spice, and sweet malt notes. Balanced with mild bitter finish.

355 ml bottle. Pours a clear rather pale yellow with a copious white head. Floral nose with hints of spice, banana and citrus against a faint malt background. Medium body. Initially spicy with a fruity phenolic character. Mild malt background with a crisp hoppy finish and slight alcohol warming.

clear yellow pour. new to this style of beer. Strong smell of orange, and alcohol. The taste is pretty true to the smell. really orangy and earthy. sour and funky almost, but not in an offensive way. Really not my style of beer. Alcohol is pretty noticeable. Not really refreshing, but I don’t think thats what this one is going for. I guess it’s drinkable but not all that enjoyable. Oh well, you gotta try em all and maybe these international styles will grow on me at some point. Till then... (later that evening) if you need to get fucked up this will work. The more I drank the more i thought about the malt liquor post and how I might not be able to tell this from an oE.... either way... 72 oz of this stuff vs 80 of OE for a comparable price.... go with this one... you won’t punch somebody that way.

This is not a fav of mine.....Poured a great golded color with very good head retention that laces the glass. Aroma of floral, taste is nice and malty, just do not like the flavor though.....maybe im just not into this style......nice alcohol bite to it....almost seems like it was aged in a bourbon cask...

Sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel" tasting. Light amber, slight off-white head. Alc, vanilla, oak toffee aroma. Bourbon, dough, off-dry flavor with orange, red apple, toffee, dry finish. Medium body and little carbonation. Very nice and drinkable.

Aroma is moderately malty with moderate orange citrus hops and other fruits. Pour yields a creamy white head with a sparkling medium yellow body. Taste is very flowery with a nice (but smooth) hop backbone with a touch of honey in the mouth. Very nice tasting.

A very good American tripel. Aroma was huge- strong light fruit, ginger and yeast. Pour was a hazy light gold with a 2 finger white head. Taste was very different...not much yeast but a strong fruit and sugar taste that’s heavy on ginger and a floral aftertaste. Medium carbonation which was disappointing but this was better than their dubbel.
