jbean (110), Illinois, USA Dec 30, 2007 Bottle. Pours clear golden color with white head. Aroma is spicy, yeasty, with notes of citrus. Flavor is sweet and spicy, with a little bite at the finish. Maybe the driest tripel I’ve ever had. One outstanding beer for the price. drewbeerme (2223), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 30, 2007 sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel". pours clear golden with white head. nose is yeasty, fruity. flavor is medicinal, yeasty, extremely dry. finishes way too dry. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Dec 27, 2007 It’s a pretty clear pale yellow color with a tinge of orange. The pour is all head due to bottle fermentation no doubt. The aroma is yeasty and a little moldy. The flavor is sweet and bites at the end. There is bit of floral quality to the aroma and taste as well. The beer tastes much better at 58 deg. than at the suggested 45 deg serving temperature. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Dec 25, 2007 Bottle; poured a gold color with medium to large white head. Aroma of yeast, flowers, sugar and spice. Flavor was dominated by spice, with some apples, yeast, and flowers. Found this to be fairly one dimensional and I didn’t evern finish the small bottle. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Dec 20, 2007 Golden color. Malt aroma and taste, sweet, light spices, uninteresting yeast. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Dec 18, 2007 Sampled on draught at the Papago Brewing Company tavern in Phoenix, AZ. Pours a semi-clear golden brew with an average white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of fruity golden malt, some apple, candi sugar, a touch of yeast and some flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of sweet apples, some yeast, golden grain malt and a touch of alcohol warmth. Finish is semi-sweet, a little alcohol character with some yeast aftertaste. elelwarren (138), SF Bay area, California, USA Dec 8, 2007 Updated: Dec 11, 2007Pineapple nose. Pours pale, with nice head and amazing lacing. Yeasty sweetness hits nicely floral and strong hops (strong, at least, for style). Cane sugar is a bit overwhelming, which I consider the beer’s only weakness. Warm, warm alcohol. Very drinkable, almost sublime. Will purchase more!
