redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA Dec 2, 2007 Pours a clear golden color, aroma is of floral hops and slightly sweet. Flavor is dry and earthy with some hop and citrus mixed in. Slight overtone of alcohol, too.

pour is a clear golden with a thin white head, and good lacing.
smell is grain, sweet fruit, spice, citrus, malt, and a touch of caramel.
taste is a little tart, some fruit, malt, bread yeast, spice, and peanuts, ends dry and a little tangy. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Nov 28, 2007 12 oz. bottle with a drink by date of 11-23-04. Pours a cloudy amber color with a slight head. Nice lacing. Smells of black pepper, spices, and corn. Light to medium bodied with a decent mouthfeel. Tastes pretty bland with a grainy, yeasty flavor. Has a slight alcohol bitterness to finish. Below average for a triple.
Not as good as I remember it being some ten or twelve years ago. jan 2004
DrZao (96), Houston, Texas, USA Nov 13, 2007 Golden, aroma is nice with banana noticeable. I agree that sweetness may help balance the flavor. Not as good as I remembered from my last tasting. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 30, 2007 Bottle from BlackForestCO. Light blond color with light eastery/banana aroma. The taste was the samw with the samw nutty flavor as fat tire. Decent but needs more sweetness and less nutty flavor. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Oct 30, 2007 Tripel? Where? Very light, highly carbonated, almost pale ale. I was duped by the high ratings on this board and the fact that I once owned a shirt with this beer’s logo on it. Overall, a bit of a disappointment. Not much citrus. Not much balance. Not much flavor. Another New Belgium let down. dwedin (238), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 28, 2007 Golden orange, brilliantly clear, thin white head. I detect the earthiness, a little floral and alcohol. Nice smooth strong beer. Sweet but not overly, a bite in the finish that balances it out. charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA Oct 28, 2007 Has all the usual attributes of a trippel but there’s an unpleasant taste here that I find in all the New Belgium beers. Can’t really put my finger on it but I guess they’re just not for me.
